MosJan Posted October 18, 2001 Report Share Posted October 18, 2001 ARMENTEL, ARMINCO SET UP NEW COMPANY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nikos Yotgulas, the chief executive manager of Armentel and Andranik Alexanian, director of Arminco, an Internet provider, have announced about creation of a joint company, called Infocom with 51 percent of shares belonging to Armentel and 49 percent to Arminco. The new company’s executive director will be appointed by Arminco. Nikos Yorgulas said Arminco was one of the leading Internet provider companies and that was why Armentel chose it to set up the new company. Andranik Alexanian in his turn praised the Armentel, saying it has extended a hand to help develop the telecommunications sector of Armenia. Alexanian also said that the new company would provide more qualitative services to all Internet users. He said that tariffs for Internet services will be changed towards reduction. Alexanian also dismissed allegations that the new company will not place the other Internet provider companies in an unfavorable position, as only Infocom could make use of Armentel capacities, which is still holds a monopoly in this sector. Alexanian also dismissed allegations that Armentel was not providing Internet traffic to other companies. Yorgulas also dismissed these allegations.
