Armenia to offer factories in repayment of debt to Russia

 

 

YEREVAN, Oct 27, 2001 (Itar-Tass via COMTEX) -- Agreements on economic

cooperation between Russia and Armenia are to be signed in Moscow early in

November, Serge Sarkisyan, Minister of Defence, Secretary of the National

Security Council to the President of Armenia, announced here on Saturday night.

 

Sarkisyan co-chairs the Armenian side in the intergovernmental commission for

economic cooperation with Russia.

 

Those documents will include an agreement on the transfer of Armenian

enterprises to Russia or the establishment of joint-venture enterprises with

Russia in repayment of the republic's debt to Moscow.

 

Serge Sarkisyan said he he would meet with his Russian counterpart for the

intergovernmental commission, Vice-Premier Ilya Klebanov, who will sign the

agreements for Russia.
