IN FEW DAYS, FIRST PART OF UNIQUE TUFENKIAN HOTEL COMPLEX, AVAN VILLA YEREVAN, WILL OPEN IN OLD NORK DISTRICT OF YEREVAN

This first building is quite different from all the other hotels in this country. In addition to providing hotel services, the Avan Villa Yerevan will tell its guests about Armenian culture, crafts, traditions and Armenian hospitality. The hotel is well equipped with all kinds of modern facilities. The rooms are furnished with famous and wonderful carpets from the Tufenkian collection.

It is the founder’s, the New York University law school’s alumni James Tufenkian’s intention that the guests staying in this hotel should live in the comforts of the 21st century while experiencing the warmth of a real Armenian household. To experience this warmth, the guest will witness a ceremony of baking the Armenian bread, lavash.

James Tufenkian wants to build hotels also in Gegharkunik, Lori, Areni, Goris and Gyumri.

So far, the Avan Villa Hotel is the only one in the Tufenkian Heritage Hotels network, and will be ready to welcome its first guests in the year of the 1700th anniversary of adoption of Christianity in Armenia.
