Yervant1
RUSSIA WILL AGAIN SAVE TURKEY AT ARMENIA'S EXPENSENaira HayrumyanPolitics - Tuesday, 24 December 2013, 15:34In neighboring Turkey unique processes are taking place that mayproduce most unexpected though planned results. The corruptionscandal in Turkey involving ministers of Erdogan's government took anunexpected turn. Erdogan said it was an intervention from the outsideand almost declared the American ambassador a persona non grata. Theambassador, according to some mass media, announced that the "empire"[Turkey] is falling. The international scandal was somehow hushed up, but nobody denied thatthe United States is interested in the collapse of the "empire" andweakening of Turkey. This interest had been demonstrated a few yearsago when the new map of the bigger Near East appeared on Pentagon'swebsite, with a state of Kurdistan and new borders of the currentstates. Turkey looks more modest on that map than it now is.Armenia is not involved, at least officially, in the ongoing processesin Turkey. In fact, Armenia cannot undertake anything now because ithas transferred the right to foreign policy and its national intereststo Russia. In summer when the Armenian government pretended willingto sign the Association Agreement with Europe, a special commissionwas set up headed by the prosecutor general, then Aghvan Hovsepyan. Hemade a fiery speech that Armenians have every reason to present claimsto Turkey. Afterwards, however, Armenia faced the Customs Union, and the commission went silent. Now the issue of claims to Turkey will be determined in the Kremlin. And the Kremlin, as is known, always takes to the side of those whohave been "hurt" by the United States. Russia has saved Turkey for anumber of times, sometimes at the expense of Armenians, and no doubtit will do the same again.Erdogan's words that external forces are up for a reshuffle and splitin the country are addressed to the Kremlin. Erdogan asked Putinfor help, and Russia is trying to help, as always at the expense ofthe Armenians.Although, recently Russia has been unable to save anyone, and it islosing its positions one after another.- See more at:http://www.lragir.am/index/eng/0/politics/view/31620#sthash.swSnBXMT.dpuf
