RUSSIA WILL AGAIN SAVE TURKEY AT ARMENIA'S EXPENSE

In neighboring Turkey unique processes are taking place that may
produce most unexpected though planned results. The corruption
scandal in Turkey involving ministers of Erdogan's government took an
unexpected turn. Erdogan said it was an intervention from the outside
and almost declared the American ambassador a persona non grata. The
ambassador, according to some mass media, announced that the "empire"
[Turkey] is falling.

The international scandal was somehow hushed up, but nobody denied that
the United States is interested in the collapse of the "empire" and
weakening of Turkey. This interest had been demonstrated a few years
ago when the new map of the bigger Near East appeared on Pentagon's
website, with a state of Kurdistan and new borders of the current
states. Turkey looks more modest on that map than it now is.

Armenia is not involved, at least officially, in the ongoing processes
in Turkey. In fact, Armenia cannot undertake anything now because it
has transferred the right to foreign policy and its national interests
to Russia. In summer when the Armenian government pretended willing
to sign the Association Agreement with Europe, a special commission
was set up headed by the prosecutor general, then Aghvan Hovsepyan. He
made a fiery speech that Armenians have every reason to present claims
to Turkey. Afterwards, however, Armenia faced the Customs Union,
and the commission went silent.

Now the issue of claims to Turkey will be determined in the Kremlin.

And the Kremlin, as is known, always takes to the side of those who
have been "hurt" by the United States. Russia has saved Turkey for a
number of times, sometimes at the expense of Armenians, and no doubt
it will do the same again.

Erdogan's words that external forces are up for a reshuffle and split
in the country are addressed to the Kremlin. Erdogan asked Putin
for help, and Russia is trying to help, as always at the expense of
the Armenians.

Although, recently Russia has been unable to save anyone, and it is
losing its positions one after another.
