On Nov.15, 2013, Russian lawmakers approved a government bill banning advertising for abortions. The bill approved by the lower house of parliament, marks the latest effort at restricting access to abortion as Russia battles to boost low-birth rates. Soon Armenia will follow suit and BAN ABORTIONS TOTALLY since she suffers also from low birth rates.

 

According to RIA Novosti from Moscow, abortion was a common method of birth control in the Soviet era and Russia still had the highest number of abortions per woman of childbearing age in the world in 2004, according to UN data.

A law passed in 2011in Russia made abortion legal only up until the 12th week of pregnancy. Some exceptions for termination up to the 22nd week of pregnancy are still permitted in the event medical complications or rape.

 

The banning of all abortions in Armenia will be a welcome sign for spiritual, moral and demographic reasons at a time when besides low-birth rate Armenia is suffering from emigration of her people for one reason or the other.

What God is telling us? That in order to overcome we Christians have to lift our hands in worship. Moreover, when Christians NOW lift their hands and jump on their feet, they are expressing their JOY in Christ, the joy that God the Father and the Holy Spirit gives, and after that most Christians are in deep study of the Word of God, which means their particular worship is only one aspect of their life in Christ; heavy study of the Bible is another, fasting is another, and fervent prayer or praying fervently as Christ commands is another. So let us start by..

Lifting up our hands

Are we to lift up our hands to God in worship? Are we to lift up our hands in prayer? Why lift up hands to worship and pray? What does it mean to do so? The word hand appears in 438 verses in the Bible. The Bible indicates two ideas--blessing and supplication. In many cultures stretching forth the hands is an indication to entreat another person to help, to give something, or to come. (Job 30:24, Proverbs 1:24; Isaiah 65:1-2; Jeremiah 4:31; Lamentations 1:17).

 

Hands were extended for prayer in the direction of God's dwelling (1 Kings 8:22; 54; 1 Chronicles 6:12, 13; 1 Kings 8:38- 39; cf. 2 Chronicles 6:29-30; Psalm 28:2; 134:2). Hands are lifted up to God in heaven. Hands express the inner man. It expresses a desire for some response from God. To lift the hand to God means invoking His help. Hands are an attempt to offer a blessing to God. Lifting up hands in praise to God is an attempt to impart a blessing to God.

What God has to say

 

We have to remember that it's ultimately God who makes the rules that govern our lives, practices, and worship. Any form of worship or style of worship is dictated by God not man. There's basically two sides to the question of lifting up hands within the meetings or fellowships in worship—one, it's practiced and anyone may do so. The other is, they don't practice it and do not encourage others to do so.

 

At our home fellowship we do because we feel led of the Lord, and that the Scriptures teach that we should. We encourage others to do so if they wish, but we do not force others if they have not come to that conclusion. Our point in this message is to allow the Scriptures to teach us. As you read the Scriptures below remember it's God that speaks. We give these Scriptures without commentary, and pray the truth of the word of God Almighty will come to you to His glory and honor.

...rats will not bother you in your house, as to the education...the important is the knowledge of God, His law, His character..someone may gain all the knowledge in the world but if he is ignorant of the knowledge of God then he is a "poor" fellow.

And Jesus said at His sermon on the mountain "blessed are the poor" because He will bring to them the knowledge of God His Father.

When you take the challenge to follow Jesus Christ then you will have many difficult times as the opposition will be significant against you by satan but be happy because Jesus will take care of that and will not allow anything beyond your ability to bear or handle. Usually Armenia follows Russia in matters of...and its expected that the Armenian president will sign a similar bill as Russia against abortion.

However, we hope to see in the news soon that Russia will give Armenian mothers of Armenia a million dollars each in order to breed children in dozens who will emigrate when adult to Russia to help in the prosperity of Russia, since Armenia has become a breeding land for Russia's population increase, Russia might as well start paying the Armenian mothers with children.

Not much is written about abortion in Armenia. A recent article in ArmeniaNow.com site gives us some details (the report article is after this introduction) and the situation looks sad, very sad and black. Abortion was not like that in Armenia before the Soviet Union, but when that empire came Armenia followed suit, after the policy of the Soviet Union and up until now, after more than 22 years of freedom, did not recover from that abortion curse forced upon her and may have gotten worse; will Armenia ever recover and be set free from the curse of the abortion?

Year 1920: After the Bolshevik-Communists capture Russia and set up the Soviet Union, they quickly legalize unrestricted abortion. The Soviet Union was the first European nation to legalize abortion.

By the time Vladimir Putin becomes President of a post-Communist Russia, 80 years later, the debased and depopulating nation is the world champion of abortion.

2001 to Present: Putin's Russia actively promotes traditional morality, Christianity, and pro family policies. Same for Armenia but Armenia stays behind Russia and might never caught up to Russia. As a matter of fact, according to this recent article by Gohar Abrahamyan Armenia got worse as freedom meant for Armenian women the freedom to do abortion OUTSIDE the hospitals and by their own hands, not that of a doctor.

While the number of abortions made clinic conditions has decreased in Armenia in recent years, doctors raise concerns about the dangerous trend of women more often resorting to artificial means of interrupting their pregnancy at home.

About 20 million illegal abortions are annually performed around the world. Some 47,000 women become victims of these abortions every year. According to Gayane Avagyan, head of the Armenian Health Ministry’s Maternal and Reproductive Health Department, in Armenia 7,000 women annually resort to abortions, and miscarriages, including those caused by wrong medication, are registered among another 4,000.

While no fatalities have been reported in Armenia because of abortions in the last five years, there have been numerous cases when women are brought to hospital in heavy conditions after abortion made at home.

“Up to 80 percent of women today prefer abortions in home conditions. They try to solve their problem by themselves until the last moment, but in some cases they eventually have to turn to doctors as they can’t deal themselves with bleeding and high fever,” says head of the maternity department at Charentsavan’s Medical Center Karine Poghosyan.

Cytotec has been the most popular medicine for abortions in Armenia in recent years, but if applied incorrectly this drug may cause real problems. This medicine is described as a gastric anti-ulcer preparation, but it is contraindicated for pregnant women as it causes sharp contractions of the uterus, causing bleeding and fetal miscarriages as a result.

Although according to the official website of the Center for Drug and Medical Technology Expertise, the drug, Cytotec 200 mcg, produced by the British Piramal Healthcare UK Limited, was registered in Armenia in 2009, at certain pharmacies it was available still before that.

Narine Grigoryan, 35, told ArmeniaNow that still nine years ago, in 2004, she tried to interrupt her pregnancy with the use of Cytotec after buying it at one of the pharmacies in Yerevan. Her attempt resulted in her being hospitalized with complications.

“My elder daughter was four years old, we had some family problems and I even had a divorce in mind then, that’s why I resorted to that step back then. Besides, it appeared to be an inexpensive and quick option. I had heavy bleeding and things went wrong, so I had to be hospitalized,” said Narine, adding that fortunately doctors managed to save her life and a few months later she was able to conceive and give birth again.

Still in 2007 the police released a statement saying that Armine Danielyan (born in 1970) was brought to hospital with a head injury and it was established that she got that injury after she fainted as a result of bleeding. As it turned out the woman tried to cause a miscarriage in home conditions by using Cytotec. The woman died in hospital shortly without regaining consciousness.

Doctors say that married women and unmarried women in Armenia prefer dangerous abortions in home conditions because this way they can get rid of the fetus quickly and without other people’s knowledge. Some also resort to it due to their heavy social situation, preferring a pill that costs pennies to medical abortion in clinic conditions that would cost them $50.

Gohar Narimanyan, who heads the gynecology division at the Hrazdan Medical Center’s Maternity Department, says that medical abortions are an accepted practice around the world and are less harmless, but there is a procedure that most women in Armenia do not follow.

“The pregnant woman should see the doctor first and undergo examination to make sure that her pregnancy is developing in the uterine cavity, then a drug is prescribed to her to stop the development of pregnancy, and only then she can use Cytotec to simply cause a miscarriage, then she needs another examination to make sure that nothing remains in the uterine cavity. After that the woman needs to be under doctors’ supervision for 15 days and if the uterine cavity has not been cleaned, it must be cleaned. But our women just take the pill and use it,” says the doctor, adding that during a month they have about 5-6 cases of complications caused by abortions attempted in home conditions and only in rare cases attempts to cause a miscarriage at home cause no problems at all.

Doctors think that a government decision is needed to prohibit the sale of such medicines at pharmacies without prescriptions.

According to Gayane Avagyan, this medicine is often used by people with stomach problems and now the Health Ministry is trying to find options to consider the interests of people with stomach problems as well.
