MJ
For those who read in Russian, I recommend the article referenced below. One has to start from the issues 98, 99 and 100. http://www.iravunk.com/rus/2002/12/p10111.html
Arpa
I don't read Russian, but is this an anti-thesis to Khrimian's "Toughte Sherep@"- the "Paper Ladle"?Reenforcing the premise that a "Paper Ladle" will get you no soup while an "Iron Scoop" may get us "khorovats"?It may be ironic that iron may have been first smelted at the Armenian Highlands but we had forgotten its value and usage in deference for that garbage that was written on "papyrus"(paper)?. MJ
No... Unfortunately it is much more banal. It is about "eating soup," but the question is "who eats whose soup..."
Arpa
Whether we are speaking about an "Iron Scoop" or a "Paper Ladle" it all boils down to the sad reality that we had forsaken the art of beating iron into sharp objects in lieu of forging it to manufcture "kandeghs". Toumanian, a patriot of the firST order in his own right, may have forgotten what Raffi had said a generation before. In spite of the latter's exhortations to build at least one fortress for every church Hovhannes comes up with such romantic verse; "Kes gisherin kandegh@ varr, Kakh e @nkats erknqits, Lousavorchi kandeghn anmar Hayotz m@tnats erk@nqits. Kakh e @nkats arants paran Aragatsi katarin, Ou seghanits hskayakan Louys e Talis Ashkharhin". No thank you! Let us forget to "louys tal ashkharhin", how about having enough electric power to illuminate and heat Yerevan?Let us by all means manufacture "kandeghs" except that this time we may use different sources of light, such as Laser beams and Nuclear flashes. MJ
Dear Arpa, The article is about corruption.
Sip
... that iron may have been first smelted at the Armenian Highlands but we had forgotten its value and usage in deference for that garbage that was written on "papyrus"(paper)?.Wow! Interesting. I have to say "Armenia, the cradle for the iron ladle" has a much better ring to it than "First Christian Nation" or "Zone D'Ark".
