May 24 Armenian defense minister Serzh Sargsian, education and science minister Levon Mkrtchian, parents of the students who were killed during the Karabagh war visited the Yerevan State University (YSU) for paying a tribute to the killed students. The visiting high ranking officials put a wreath on the monument dedicated to the killed Karabagh war volunteer students today, which is located in the yard of the university. Serzh Sargsian said that the privileges of the killed students’ families, including the issue of securing them with apartments, will be reviewed on these days. Members of ‘Vardanank’ military club awarded the defense minister with a diploma of gratitude for special care towards the killed volunteers’ families. The diploma was awarded to Sargsian by a 10 year-old son of a killed Karabagh war volunteer. On the same day the rector of the YSU Radik Martirosian and defense minister Serzh Sargsian signed an agreement on preparing military experts in the YSU.
