It is said that the actor Clint Eastwood once was planning to make a Western style cowboy movie in the region of Vayots Dzor.
The wine region of Armenia- Areni is located in Vayots Dzor, and the archaeology cave sites including the oldest shoe in the world, Noravank Monastery, Smbataberd Fortress, and the Tsakhats Kar Monastery, as well as the popular resort Jermuk. There are natural springs and a ski slope about 45 minutes from Yeghegnadzor and the ancient silk road passing through it.
