MosJan Posted August 2, 2001 Report Share Posted August 2, 2001 LEADERS OF ARMENIAN CHURCH RECONFIRM UNITY AND BROTHERLY RELATIONS YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS: Leaders of the Armenian Patriarchates of Istanbul and Jerusalem Archbishops Mesrop Mutafian and Torgom Manookian met July 31 with members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, after concluding a series of consultations on church issues with the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II at Byurakan, some 20 km off the capital Yerevan. According to Echmiadzin press office, the consultations were efficient and once again reconfirmed the unity and brotherly relations between the Chairs of the Armenian Church. The Archbishops had arrived in Yerevan July 27 to discuss some issues related to officially sponsored festivities and events devoted to 17 centuries of Armenia's conversion into Christianity and will stay here until August 3.
