MOST INFLUENTIAL MEN OF ARMENIA

Russian ‘Panorama’ information-experimental center, together with Azg daily carried out a traditional public opinion poll in Armenia, aiming to find out the most popular and influential political and public figures of Armenia.

 

 

The list of the top men of Armenia goes as follows:

 

 

1. Kocharian Robert – Armenian president (98,8% of the respondents found Kocharian to be the most influential figure of the country)

 

 

2. Sargissian Serzh – defense minister (92,2% found Sargissian as the second top official of Armenia)

 

 

3. Margarian Andranik – prime minister (51,7%)

 

 

4. Oskanian Vardan – foreign minister (30,2%)

 

 

5. Geghamian Artashes – chairman of parliamentary ‘Right and Unity’ faction (28,5%)

 

 

6. Sargsian Aram – ex-prime minister (18,1%)

 

 

7. Ter-Petrosian Levon – ex-president of Armenia (17,8%)

 

 

8. Bazeyan Albert – leader of ‘Hanrapetutyun party (16,9%)

 

 

9. Demirchian Stepan – leader of People’s Party of Armenia (16,3%)

 

 

10. Margarian Hrant – representative of Armenian Revolutionary Federation bureau (12,8%)

 

 

11. Torosian Tigran – deputy chairman of Armenian parliament (10,4%)

 

 

12. Naghdalian Tigran – head of Armenian Public TV (10%)

 

 

13. Vardanian Hrant – director of ‘Grand Tobacco’ company (9,6%)

 

 

14. Baghdasarov Michael – head of ‘Mika Limited’ company (8,9%)

 

 

15. Hovhannisian Vahan – chairman of parliamentarian defense committee (8,5%)

 

 

16. Harutyunian Alexan – advisor to the Armenian president (7,8%)

 

 

17. Haroutiunian David – justice minister (6,7%)

 

 

18. Tumanian Artashes – chief of staff of Armenian president (6,7%)

 

 

19. Ghukasian Arkadi – President of Karabagh (6,3%)

 

 

20. Petrosian Karlos – national security minister (5,2%)

 

 

20. Sadoyan Arshak – parliament deputy (5,2%)

 

 

As we can see the first quartet remained unchanged compared with the last poll. The leaders of Hanrapetutyun party Aram Sargsian and Albert Bazeyan gained higher rating this time.

 

 

The first president of the third Armenian republic Levon Ter-Petrosian also entered the top ten of the list- re-emerging in the society with organizing a presentation dedicated to the 10-th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence this month.

 

 

It was a success for the justice minister of Armenia David Haroutiunian to appear among the top 20 poplar figures of Armenia.

 

 

Representatives of Armenia’s most influential mass media and information sources, as well as famous politologists and sociologists participated in the poll.
