TURKEY TRIES TO CAUSE CLASH BETWEEN ARMENIANS AND KURDS

Story from Lragir.am News:

In Turkey, hopeless attempts are made to take the Kurdish movement

to Iraq and Syria. The Turkish leadership launched unprecedented

negotiations with Abdullah Ocalan, head of the Kurdish Workers' Party,

who is serving life term in prison. Actually, the Turkish government

does everything to ensure Kurds are in power in some parts of Syria

and Iraq, so they can create a united Kurdish state. Now Turkey is

sending its Kurd population to these countries.

What will Kurds do? Judging by the fact that on the day of Nowruz Kurds

held peaceful demonstrations in Turkey and declared the Turkish-Kurdish

world, they were able to force Turkey to fulfill their demands. The

simple requirement is to free Ocalan and give Kurds autonomy.

It is not clear yet whether Erdogan will free Ocalan because it is

evident that in freedom, the leader of the Kurdish Workers' Party

may become talkative. But, it is evident that the Kurdish autonomy in

Turkey will happen. The only question is where it will be established.

Though Kurds live in the Southeast of Turkey, on the border with

Syria and Iraq, Turkey will hardly agree to give them autonomy in

that territory since the threat of unification of Kurdish lands is

possible. Most likely, Turkey will come up with a cunning move to

create autonomy for the Kurds in the north of the country, in the

territories of Western Armenia. This move will kill several birds with

one stone: Kurds will be given autonomy, but not next to the Kurdish

state, which is likely to be established in the territories of Iraq

and Syria. In addition, Turkey will take the question of the Armenian

genocide in the space of relations between Armenians and Kurds.

The issue on the possible split of Turkey has been viewed by analysts

since long as an imminent prospect. In addition, both Kurds and

Armenians should contribute to the split, who, by 2015, should pose

territorial claims to Turkey and demand back the lands seized in

the result of the genocide. Turkey, apparently, decided to direct

Armenians and Kurds against each other.

Today, another session of the commission on the organization of events

for the 100th anniversary of genocide was held in Yerevan. Serzh

Sargsyan addressed the members. Yesterday, he congratulated the Kurds

on the occasion of Nowruz. Earlier, signature collection supporting

Ocalan's release had been carried out in Yerevan.

Is Armenia ready for Turkey's plan to cause clash of interests between

Armenians and Kurds in Western Armenia? Are negotiations with Kurdish

leaders underway? Is the question on such scenario discussed with

world centers which openly support the creation of the Kurdish state

on the territories of Syria, Iraq and Turkey?
