khodja
Who is a progressive Armenian going to emulate and find comaraderie with? Certainily not the fascists who control our community, both in social and religious organizations. So we find those who have found success in the general arts and civil rights gravitating toward a milieu composed in large part by Jews. Charles Garry and Cher, among others, travelled/travel in these circles, but did not deny their Armenian heritage. Others, such as Gregory Peck, find overall Armenian political and social views so abhorrent that they deny the very fact of their Armenianness. A community at war with itself, becoming increasingly diminished due to the iron hand of it's misguided leaders.
gamavor
MOSHE, Why should an Armenian, align himself with people and so-called "nation" who are culturally so far away from us. Why should we seek friends among mass murderers like Sharon, why should we pay respect to a country which occupies Armenian Holly sites, and finally why those who disagree with you are fascists? khodja
This trend is the handiwork of those who make policy in our community. The White Genocide is as sucessful as the Red Genocide. While the Red Genocide was the work of the Ittihadists among the Young Turks, the White Genocide is the work of those who run things in the Armenian community. Futhrmore, Sharon is at the extreme right end of Israeli politics, a super-hawk hell-bent on quashing the Palestinians. He is not the whole of Israeli politics.
