hyecory
Melineh Shajanian On February 22, claims made by Serzh Sarkisian, the Interior and National Security Minister, tha Armenia had discovered the cure for AIDS were corroborated by Emil Gabrielian in a signed, written statement. After lengthy research, sponsored by Sarkisian and unnamed businessmen, a group of doctors have produced what is being called a cure. Emil Gabrielian, director of the Drug Agency, said that the results of this cure are not comparable to the most effective drug throughout the world. The cure has been tested on 14 individuals suffering from AIDS, four of whom were in critical condition. Their health improved dramatically when given several injections of the drug. Patients achieved full recoveries in two months. As a former Health Minister of Armenia, Gabrielian warned that the drug should be tested internationally before it could be considered successful. “We must make sure it is utterly effective. We must again check the credibility of facts,” Gabrielian said. The drug, Armenicum, was registered by Gabrielian’s agency.Armenia has mostly avoided contact with AIDS from other parts of the world, which have been affected severely by the deadly disease. From about 80 registered HIV carriers, there have been seven known death cases in Armenia thus far.A group of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), were to study the drug in Yerevan, meeting with the inventors and treated patients in a Yerevan clinic. Many AIDS patients, including ones from Europe, North and South America, have requested visas to travel to Armenia in search of a cure. Among these patients is former Los Angeles Laker and basketball great, Ervin “Magic” Johnson. The “California Courier” has reported that Johnson has also applied for a visa to travel to Armenia. As yet, information on the drug is scarce.
khodja
Never has such a worldwide heath crisis been so mismanaged. Firstly, this was labelled a homosexual disease, when from an inernational perspective it is predominantly a heterosexual disease. Secondly, it was assumed in the West that a disease of homosexuals would remain with this despised group, ergo who cares. As if those who practice homosexuality are neither married nor have children. Thirdly, AIDS is BIG BUSINESS. Does anyone think the international pharmaceutical companies are going to let the Armenians make a windfall of profit from this discovery? AIDS could have been stopped dead in it's tracks years ago. Some of us who researched the properties of this disease years ago realized that the only way to protect oneself was to forgo any blood transfusions and to participate in sexual activity only with one you were sure was free of this disease. I have chosen to remain celibate except during the years I was married. I was in the minority. The churches really hoped that anyone who had sex outside of marriage would die. The pharmaceutical companies saw a windfall of profit. Who the hell are the Armenians to come along and undermine the international conglomerates and the will of the Christian and Moslem "Imams" by finding a cure? khodja
There are people involved with certain professions who know everything about the epidemiology of diseases. You don't have to be a member of the group to understand what transpires. Hyecory, again you reveal your ignorance.
wh00t
Is the Armenicum fervor starting again, or is this old news? I still want to see the alleged picture of Magic Johnson wearing a "I love Armenia" t-shirt that Novoye Vremya published. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~kpearce/arm...99/april19b.htm
bellthecat
This whole Armenicum rubbish is just a sad sign of the collapse of Armenian science after the highs of the late Soviet period. It reminds me of Eastern European countries like Hungary or Poland - during the 1960s and 70s (after all the good scientists had left for the west) it was from these places that miracle "cures" for baldness, etc. seemed to always originate.
