Arpa
Sebastia now known as Sivas. According to one source it was known as Megalopolis-Sebasteia.Another source has this to say.Sebastia; Kabira, Diopolis, Sevast. It has first become inhabited during 100-150BC and was known as Kabira* named for the undergrond gods of same name. King Mihrdat VI of Pontus built a fortess and gave the place the semblance of a city. In 66BC the Roman greneral Pompeus was deafeated at the walls of the city and for that reason the city was renamed Diopolis (City of gods). In around 30 BC the city fell to the ally of Rome Polemon I, upon his death his widow expanded the city and renamed it in his honor Augustinia and Sebastia alternately, the latter to mean "sacrosanct/holy". *Does the Arabic word "qabr" meaning as in cemetary have anything to do with the "underground gods" mentioned here?
