MosJan
ARMENIAN CULTURE DAYS IN PARISThe 9-th district of Paris started the year 2002 with organizing Armenian culture days, which lasted for nine days. The events included Armenian photo exhibition (presenting Armenia’s and Karabagh’s sights, scenes of everyday life, khachkars (cross-stones), churches, etc) and exhibition of photos and documentary films dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Lectures on Armenian history were delivered and plays were performed- with participation and supervision of French-Armenian actress and art director Nora Armani. Three films were displayed during the culture days- Henri Verneuil’s ‘Beast on the moon’ (with Simon Abgarian starring), Artavazd Feleshian’s ‘Seasons’ and Atom Egoyan’s ‘Kalantar’. A round table with a theme ‘Genocide Recognition: What Next?’ was also held at the end of the culture days – with participation of historians, writers and political figures.
