MosJan Posted November 5, 2001 Report Share Posted November 5, 2001 ARMENIAN STATE CHAMBER ENSEMBLE LEAVES FOR USAThe Armenian state chamber ensemble, led by its conductor Aram Gharabekian is leaving for the USA on Tuesday after giving a series of concerts in Cyprus, Greece, Great Britain, Lebanon and Switzerland, as well as in Nagorno Karabagh and Armenia. The first concert will be given in New York in Lincoln Center. Speaking to reporters on Monday Aram Gharabekian said the tours to Lebanon and Great Britain were great success. The Lebanese tour was sponsored by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). The invitation to Great Britain came from the organizers of a traditional festival of chamber music in Canterbury. One of the reviews in the local press said that the concerts of the Armenian ensemble was greeted by a storm of applause.
