Held since 1994, the "Taos" festival is unique, because its prize is 5,000 acres of land. The purpose of the prize is to build a Taos "filmtown," the residents of which will all be film-makers who have participated in the festival. The Czech Republic, Austria, China, Canada and Armenia will participate in the festival this year. The topic of "On Ancient Rome Roads" which is a joint Armenian-German-Dutch production, is the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. Kelly Clement, the director of the festival, said about Don Askarian's film: "This film is a rare and unique treasure. This is the film which exceeds all expectations."
