Armenian Genocide book issued in Turkey

A book telling about the Armenian Genocide has been published in

Turkey, authored by Binnaz Oner, Agos newspaper reports.

 

Entitled `The Left Behind', the novel tells about the Armenian mothers

forced to hand their daughters in 1915 to Turkish families to save

their lives. Oner said she has been greatly affected by the stories of

the mothers forced to leave their children for saving the latter's

lives. `Leaving own child is worse than death for a mother. Only a

mother will understand the feelings of the other mother. Only mothers

may understand the pain of separation with a child,' she said.

 

Asked why she has written the book, Oner said the story of the

Armenian mothers impressed her deeply. `Each sensitive person would be

greatly touched by the story,' she said.

A book about the Armenian Genocide permitted in that country would be the thinnest book in the world, as thin as a book of Jurkish honesty.

It would be my biggest wish is for turkey to admit their guilt so that we Armenians can talk about those righteous Turks who risked their lives in order to save some of us. This is not an idea in my head but a factual reality that I've been familiar with all my life! Humanity is not dead, it's still alive and kicking.

You're right, when I was little, Mr. Melkonian, told me what he experenced as a boy : He was around ten years old and the time. Ork soldiers shot him in the legs, he showed me the scars, you could still tell which scars were the exit wounds, he discribed the bloody trail left in the snow. It seems they weren't trying to kill him on the spot, rather letting him die in the snow, of blood loss and cold. He said to me " Turkish peopld hid me, good Turks!"

 

I never before repeated the story, because I couldn't say: "Good Turks."

 

It has been and is in my mind every day of my life what they did to us..........for fun and profit, and they're not sorry and would do it again, they are doing it again.

 

But you are right, it would be a fine thing to acknowledge the kindness, the humanity. I have never thought that before this moment.

Good people exist in every race, it would be much better if the state (government) of any country stops brainwashing their citizens for political purposes.

TURKISH LIBRARIES FULL OF BOOKS DENYING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE: AGOS' REFERENCE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS: Though today's Turkey tries to erase
the label of a state that has a rough denial position in the issue
of genocide, Ankara's efforts all the same fail.

As Armenpress reports, Armenian "Agos" newspaper of Istanbul has
made a special study in libraries of different Turkish cities on the
Armenian genocide literature and has found out that the overwhelming
majority of the books defend the official thesis.

In Taksim's Ataturk Library there are 56 books containing the
"genocide" word, but only 4 of them do not correspond to the official
thesis. 9 out of those books stand up for the idea that there was no
genocide of Armenians. The situation is the same in Bayazet Library,
which is considered to be the biggest in Istanbul.

There are 156 books in the National Library of Ankara. 28 books on
the Armenian Genocide tell about the genocide in terms of the official
thesis of Turkey.
