Gregorovich
OK.. here is a link to a YouTube video, VERY pretty sound, and it says JivanGasparyan is the player Is this right? If not who played the duduk as it isdone very well! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpWhL5kPYzE Also, same song, and I like the sound of the recording better here, and the girl isalos pretty nice to watch as well, a well known belly dancer, but sounds like same song: So that is the quest of this new message. Jivan Gasparyan or not? If not, thenwho? I thought the duduk playing was especially fine. Armenia has many many tallents! Vern
Yervant1
AZERBAIJAN'S DREAMS ABOUT DUDUK HAVE BURST LIKE A BUBBLE arminfoFriday, February 3, 13:57 For old time's sake the Azerbaijani Mass Media again speak of the"plagiarism" by Armenian musicians. This time, certain Alihan Samedov,a Turkish musician, Azerbaijani my origin, told Day.az a bloodcurdlingstory about the famous duduk player Jivan Gasparyan who regularlyperforms his music. Samedov's pain and sorrow are natural since hehas never performed Gasparyan's repertoire. It is hardly possibleto trust in this tale as far as Jivan Gasparyan is a world-renownedmusician unlike Samedov. To draw parallels with Ivan Krylov's "Elephant and Pug", one can justgoogle "Alihan Samedov" and "Jivan Gasparyan" and see the results -65600 and 482 thousand respectively. Neither can Samedov boast of hisviews on Youtube. While his music on youtube is approaching 40,000views, Jivan Gasparyan's Dle Yaman alone has been viewed by almost300,000 times. In this light, Samedov's statement calling the Armenian duduk an Azeribalaban arouses just an indulgent smile. Suffice it to say that in2005 UNESCO announced the sounds of Armenian duduk masterpiece ofnon-material cultural heritage of humanity. No comments. Gregorovich
I actually like this song very much. I think this player is exceptionally gifted in playing the Duduk - Balaban. I believe in music for music sake and not for boundries of countries. I understand now, it is from an Azerbaijan composer played by Alihan Samedov. The piece was well put together with the accordian, and the name of the song is Sen Gelmez Oldun. It would be very nice if someone that can play the Duduk would do it and post it on YouTube. Gregorovich
Since I can't edit, I'll just post an additional link to a bit more of the story of this song, Sen Gelmez Oldun, and it's plyaer, Alihan Samedov. As I have said, I have very little problem or prejudice to music. As a studen of the duduk, I am learning and most can out playe me, and certainly in this link as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2LasJN2-aE
