GandorTheGreat
Hi, can anyone help me find an English word for "mag-ar-itch"? Or just a simple definition would be very helpful. I always heard people saying it to someone who had something good or lucky happen in there life. Might be totally off base with my memory. Maybe it could have been "Hisus bergitch" meaning Jesus Savior or Holy Jesus, people say in amazement when unexpected happens.
Arpa
It does not sound Armenian, seems to be Russian. I have no idea of its meaning.See;http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=493&st=1640&p=106976&hl=magarich&fromsearch=1entry106976 Maybe Ed and friends can tell us.Seems like it has to do with "bribe/tip/gratuity/favor"???She had to pay the 1 thousand ($3 U.S.) as “magarich” or “tip” or money to speed ...Like these "mint favors" at the checkout of restaurants to sweeten the taste of oinions and garlic?http://images.weddingaccessories.net/catalog/1006-858-pillow-mint-candy.jpg Edited December 4, 2011 by Arpa
