Azat
Tigran, you must have a Laker voodoo doll or something because the Lakers suck really bad now. I have a feeling that they are not going to make it to the playoffs this year. In the west you need about 45-48 wins to be in the playoffs and with only 40 games left in the season I do not see them winning 26-29 out of 40. Only Dallas and Sacrament have a record today where that have won similar percentages this year. And we have MANY good teams coming up on the second half of the year. Could the lakers be only the second team in NBA history to win a championship one year and not get to the playoffs the next?
Sip
I think Lakers will as usual wait till the last second to turn on the jets ... at this point, I am quite confident that they will go to playoffs ... now winning the championship is a difficult question since again they have to face kings at some point. I don't see Dallas being much of a threat to either lakers or kings. BUT, this is all assuming that Shaq is healthy as the season gets closer to end. Azat
I sure hope you are right, but I am not sure if they can. The next 5 games will tell alot. They have the Suns, Kings, Jazz(at home), Indy and NY on the road and if they win 4 out of those 5 we are in good shape, but I will not be surprised if they loose 3 out of 5. Sip
I think his dunk over Ming Yao is something that's going to go down in history! They froze the picture and you can clearly see his hand is several inches above Ming's!!!!! Oh that dunk felt soooo good The other thing that was awesome was in last night's game against Utha when he head-faked and both Kirilenko and this other guy went flying by (they had double teamed him)... he steped back, turned around, and made an AWESOME shot [ February 20, 2003, 04:24 PM: Message edited by: Sip ]

But I'll be so happy doing it as the Laker's are kings again. They are kicking but left and right. Now I am convinced that if they play like they have in the last couple of months NOBODY can beat them. YIIIIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Azat
I forgot to say, the NBA better give the MVP to Kobe. he is by far the most incredible played this year.
Azat
It was UGLY tonight. The wolves just whooped some Laker butt. But not too worry. We come home on Thursday and we will remind the wolves why they have never went past the first round.
Sip
Yah that was ugly ... but not because of Lakers but because those guys weren't missing anything. They put on a very nice show! Next game will be interesting but I have a feeling lakers will sweep them here in LA. On a related sports note ... I just saw Man U. vs. R. Madrid ... all I can say is WOW. Best game I have seen since the world cup last year ... 3 goals by Ronaldo ... 2 goals by Beckham after he comes in as a sub in second half ... and that's not even all the goals in the game ... and not just any goals ... all of them really great goals ... all I can say is WOW!!!! Real Madrid looks awefully good to take it all (Champions League) I think.
Sip
Azat, did you SEE what I SAW? ... the dunk of all dunks!!!! Man Kobe put the verchaket on Minesota and Garnet last night!!!!! I think that dunk is going to be in every highlight film ever produced from now on!

Azat
I did. I am not kidding. I fell of the couch when I saw that dunk. Especially since it was over 6'11" KG one of the best in the NBA this year. Last nights game was exciting to watch. All the players played very well. I missed out on this game , everyone has been saying how good it was, I just saw Ronaldos winning goal (strike from outside the penalty box) on the news. Real is certainly looking good for the cup, they also managed to thrash United at home, but their Italian opponents can be very unpredictable, just like the Italian national side. Dan
Man, why do I miss out on all the sports games???? They never show anything here unless it's in Canada or there's a Canadian team playing - of course, there's the cable, but I don't have the sports channel on the cable. So I get to miss all the fun stuff. Real Madrid SUCKS, by the way. They're TOO arrogant. I hate arrogant teams. Man. Unt is cool, except for that dude Beckham (is he with them still?!) who was better at fighting than soccer. Lakers are cool. I've been a Lakers fan starting from back when Jordan played with the Chicago Bulls at the height of their popularity.
Sip
Man. Unt is cool, except for that dude Beckham (is he with them still?!) who was better at fighting than soccer. Beckham is still at Man U but I think there are talks of him making the move to R. Madrid. So he certainly made the statement during that game that Madrid should take him serious!!!! The Milan showdown should be fun (Inter vs AC) but I am looking forward to the Real Madrid vs Juventus game ... I think the first one is on May 6th. Accelerated
Real Madrid SUCKS, by the way. They're TOO arrogant. I hate arrogant teams. They have the right to be arrogant, the club is one of the oldest of Europe and has performed consistently well throughout its 100 year history. Almost every current player they currently field is a soccer genius in their own right. PS. I've never seen them behave arrogantly anyway... And I share your dislike of Beckam, I have never seen him play as well as he is hyped (granted I am told he played well vs Real this week). And I hate the sound of his voice, (LOL) and the crap that comes out of his mouth - he is actually pretty dumb. And hate Owen too - LOL
Dan
Well I hate the Brazilian dude, what's his name - Roberto Carlos?! Yea, and I don't like Owen either. And that dude Ryan Giggs (is he with Man. Unt still?!) is nuts. The only British team I cheer for in the British league is Liverpool. Well, maybe Newcastle too. And if it's a Brit team vs. another team (i.e. Champions League, etc.), I'd sure cheer for the Brits. Other than that, I really liked the A.S. Roma games like 2 years ago, which is the last time I've seen any of their games, and I don't know if they're still good. Bayern Munchen is a good team. Dortmund - haven't heard about them lately. Man, Ajax Amsterdam was pretty good a coupla years ago, I remember how they lost vs. Juventus in the Champions League. But now I haven't been hearing about them lately. And Arsenal too. So where are the Lakers right now? I mean, what's their standing? Or is it the playoffs already?! They don't show the games here in Toronto unless you have cable or something, so I donno.
