They get all drunk, guys went crazy, they rapes the girl, she then became pregnant. What would be a reaction? First you badly kill the guys, second? Is the girl totally inocent??? I think in this situation girl deserves slightly less punishment than those guys. The girl in your example may be guilty of: (a) poor judgement and/or ( choosing gutter scum as friends, but she is innocent with respect to the rape.I understand what you and Richard are trying to say here, but if a woman gets drunk with men or wears suggestive clothing that doesn't contribute to the crime. Kind of like if I leave my car unlocked and someone steals the stereo. Did I show poor judgement? Yes. Do I share blame in the theft? No. It's really two different things here.I agree that women should not drink heavily around men they do not 100% trust. Why? Because men can be f'ckheads when given half the chance. But no matter how much I drink, I could never rape a woman. Rapists are rapists. The words of a drunk are the thoughts of the same man sober. We all get into situations where "we should have known better" but that doesn't mean we are partially to blame if we are a victim of a crime.Everyone take a step back . Artur is only refering to those situations where better judgement might have averted the rape. I disagree with him about the woman sharing shame or blame in these instances, but I don't think Artur's the monster the thread is making him out to be.[This message has been edited by Pilafhead (edited December 03, 2000).]

I was going to say you have to be a woman to understand, but instead read Pilafhead's post and my answer lies there.

Guest
Gayane, you can ask me to think of anyone... but NOT my sister, capish? Your question made me feel really bad inside! I hope you understand you mistake. Now the question is not about rape and if someone wrote a whole book explaining what it is. Because i don't really care about what it means, neither i care what the real definition. The question is about punishment that comes from the situation. And that's why what i said is what it is. Guest
How can you punish people involved in something if you have no conceptual or definitional understanding of what that something is? lol, I know Garik's sitting on pins and needles now waiting for a war to erupt. So let's be nice to Garik
Guest
Gayane jan, as we say in Farsi "veleshkon" don't bother wasting wear and tear on your phalanges typing responses to Artur, he obviously does this to provoke, and Garik says I am the trouble maker! I, as a man, think his attitude in this matter is repugnant.

Guest
Did any of you see or remember the movie "Higher Learning?" I got to say that date rape or campus rape is quite common, especially in U.S. Did you remember the scene where that white girl was going to a frat. party then she went in bed with a white guy? She allowed him to penetrate, but at the last thought backed out of it. Many date rapes do occur under similar circumstances. The girl entices and agrees to the man's advances, then backs off at the last moment. That is why I still appreciate many Armenian and Asian families for not allowing their daughters to dormitories or living off campus. These things do eventually occur. Guest
Gayane, noe you are being redicilous. I said to that in our contest it doens't really matter what the definition of rape is, and you tell me again. If someone in the family or relatives get raped you are going to look for definition of rape, but i am going to punish, and if the girl is connected to it or if her fault led to a rape, she will be punished badly. But i know if the family grown in the same way as mine, when girl doesn't even want to talk to guys, then 99% is that the girl is the one that needs to be supported. And the guy who raped this innocent girl would be punished heavily, serving as a slave!!! If it happens to any Armenian girl in Kazakhstan, i mean good girl, i doesn't matter if she my relative or not if it is needed i will help her. Guest
This thread is beginning to physically sicken me. I would suggest to all the men to go and read a couple of books on rape, then we'll talk. Capish? Artur, the answer to your dismay at my question is the following: think about what YOU are saying. Frankly, this is taking enormous amounts of self restraint on my part not to overreact. Please watch it.
