khodja Posted October 22, 2001 Report Share Posted October 22, 2001 Now that the Armenian-American community is about to be double-crossed by the Bush Administration, NORA is touting the recent appointment of an Armenian-American as Undersecretary of Commerce and the campaign of Elizabeth Dole for Senator from North Carolina. But much as they try, they can't make Armenians forget the "elephant in the room," the undermining of Section 907. They want to keep Armenians in the Republican camp at all costs. That is fine for the fat-cats and the conservative christians among us, but the soccer moms and academics are going to be wooed extensively by the Democrats. The Republicans will elevate old antagonisms and play on emotions as they have in the past so they can sink pro-Armenian Democrats like Bradley and any Armenian who runs as a Democrat.
