Deputy nature protection minister Artashes Ziroyan told Armenpress that the plan had been approved by the government and was submitted to Global Ecological Fund and relevant UN organizations to seek funds for its implementation. The plan's implementation will require about $500,000. He also said that another program, called 'Management of Natural Resources and Reduction of Poverty', has been drafted jointly with the World Bank and is supposed to be implemented in the forests in the provinces of Tavoush and Gegharkounik. Ziroyan said the World bank has pledged funds for implementation of this program. The deputy minister said some 600 hectares of forests have been restored this year and another 800 hectares are set for the next year.
