Boghos
Our Century (Azerbaijan)June 6 - 12, 2001 «Turks, be vigilant» Erich Fygle's book «The Truth About Terror. The ArmenianTerrorism-Sources and Reasons», issued in Baku in Russian language, has not been, yet, used by those people and organisations whosecompetence is rendering the Armenians provocation harmless. TheAustrian researcher, cinematographer and writer, Erich Fygle, knownas the most consistent protector of the Turks and Azeris against theArmenia propagandistic diversions has recently visited Baku. Duringhis meetings with the public of the country he shared his creativeplans with them. He, namely, told about his idea to shoot thedocumentary film about Azerbaijan. An interesting dialogue took place between the writer and theaudience at the Baku State University, the management of which hadinvited E. Fygle to come to Azerbaijan. The discussion was focused onthe writer's book of «The Truth About Terror. The Armenian Terrorism:Sources and Reasons». Published in the West in three languages,English, German and French, the book was issued in Baku in Russian, last year. The writer has kindly agreed to answer the questions ofour correspondent. -Your book, is one of the few researches of foreign authors, whichwith the scientific scrupulosity and argumentation unmasks thelegends about genocide allegedly conducted by the Turks at thebeginning of the XX-th century. What has the further fate of the bookbeen like? -The Armenians have conducted the act of ideological terrorism; theybought almost all the copies in German and French. But I hadsucceeded in publication of the book in English. And now we have aRussian copy of it, as well. Unfortunately, the book has not, so far, been acquired by the persons or organisations responsible for makingthe Armenian provocation harmless. It is worth mentioning that eventhe Austrian embassy has no copy of the book. -Of course, we should do our best to get the readers acquainted withthis work. You have done all you could. By the way, had yourecognised the danger you were involving yourself in by touching thesubject the falsified interpretation of which has been protected bythe Armenian extremists not only with the help of the pen andcomputer means but the guns, also? -My intrusion into the «prohibited zone» was caused by the death ofmy friend, the Turkish diplomat, Erdogan Ozen, in the result of theterrorist act. I knew him well and my book has been devoted to hismemory. He was a very kind man with high professional skills. He alwayshelped the families of the Turkish workers. One morning I turned onthe radio to hear the terrible news: Erdogan had been in the car thatexploded in the centre of Vienna, near the Turkish embassy. Shocked with the friend's death I began the detailed study of the«Armenian matter». I was not touched or convinced by the Armenianlegends any more, though, frankly speaking, I, as all the Austrians, did remember that there was the time when the Turks besieged Viennaand a priory sympathised with the «poor Armenians». But I overcamethe prejudice and preconception. Having accumulated lots of facts anddocuments, and interviewed many people, and shot the unique visualmaterial I came to the conclusion that shocked the western reader:2.5 million Moslems were killed by the Armenian terrorists in theOttoman empire and Azerbaijan during the events of 1915. In thecourse of the military actions and the deportation the Armenians lost300 thousand people. So, who has performed the genocide? -But you are one of the few in the West asking this rhetoricquestion. -The world public's opinion is captivated by the ideas, dictated bythe Armenians, and incompetent and unfair writers. The legend aboutthe genocide is supported by a number of falsified sources. They are, first of all, the «official documents» forged and published in 1920by some Aram Andoyan, and the novel of «Forty Days of Musa-dag» byFrans Verfel, that, in essence, is the interpretation of crazyinventions of Andoyan. The truth is that the Armenian in their blind wish to take revenge ofthe alleged genocide had killed the Turks with extraordinarybrutality. The Armenians and their friends deliberately ignore the fact that thetragedy of involving the people in war was caused not by the Moslembrutality but by sinister fanaticism of the Armenian terrorists whohad foisted the idea of the «Great Armenia» to their people. -How may the Armenian terrorism be prevented? It is necessary to hold the negotiations, to eliminate the reasons ofmistrust, not to increase the number of mutual offence, andnaturally, to fight against the mortal force of the legends. The keyto solution of the Armenian terrorism matter, its victims being theTurks and Azeris, should be searched for in historic events. Theseevents of the early XX-th century marked by the grasping «partitionof the Ottoman heritage» should be considered from the positions ofhistoric objectiveness. It should be reminded that it was theArmenians who performed the aggression against the Azeris in 1919.And the tragedy has repeated nowadays: the Armenians have occupied 20% of the Azerbaijan territory, carried out the ethnic clearance inArmenia and Artsax and deprived million of people of their home. Inthis situation I think that the Turks have to «wake up», finally, andactivate their efforts to neutralise the Armenian propaganda. TheArmenian lobby is strong, powerful and possesses huge capital, whilethe Turkish and Azeri communities in the West live in the state ofthe bliss fatalism. To conclude I would like to say : «Turks, bevigilant».

THOTH
Have any of you actually ever read this guys stuff? Its pretty poor. But of course certain Turks - who hunger for this sort of thing - are eating it up. My only worry is the general lack of knowledge/education of people in the world. Show it on TV, print it in a book, write a letter to the editor....and many are bound to beleive it as 100% true....
THOTH
I've often though "gee, maybe the Turks were right - after all there were only about a million of us who lived in Anatolia anyway according to the Turks, and the vast vast majority were unarmed...and mostly women, children and old people after the men were taken away...yet these young tykes with wooden guns and old men with pitchforks managed to maraud around the countryside and do in 2.5 million Turks! What a fanatic fighting force...far to dangerous to leave alone & undisturbed...." quote:Originally posted by MJ: Dear Boghos, You should've posted this material in the Humor forum. Boghos
Dear Winston, I am quite comfortable with the way the world perceives the Genocide, Turkey and its absurd pesudo intellectuals for hire excepted. We are at a point where no amount of propaganda from the Turks will change perceptions. There are many reasons for that in my view. But most importantly: it is very difficult to hide or transform an obvious truth.
THOTH
Agree for the most part. However many people have never even heard of an Armenian - are ignorant of the genocide (and perhaps even historical events in general) etc etc. And didn't you say you spent some time in the States? hey - people here will beleive just about anything...and they have no basis to know differently. So to some degree I am worried - sure most can see through Turkey's bull ...but. then of course we have all seen how readily the media will jump to support a particular government perspective. We see the Bush administration making some moves based on oil/gas interest and they also view Turkey as a stalwart military ally....so again, anything is possible...
