MosJan Posted October 17, 2001 Report Share Posted October 17, 2001 MONUMENT DEVOTED TO ARMENIA OPENED IN FRANCEA monument, devoted to the Armenian-French friendship and the 1700th anniversary of Armenia's adoption of Christianity, opened October 14 at the center of Antonie city in France with Armenia's ambassador to France Edward Nalbandian, mayor of Antonie city, parliament deputy Mr. Devejian participating. According to the foreign affairs ministry public relations department, Edward Nalbandian said that the 2001 year could be announced a year of Armenia in France, taking into account France's recognition of the Armenian Genocide and Armenia's president Robert Kocharian's state visit to France. And the opening of the monument coincides with the 10th anniversary of Armenian Independence and the 1700th anniversary of Christianity in Armenia.
