Yervant1
I don't know. That was my impression as I watched the match against Greece.Generaly strikers are individual players who go for the kill most of the time, that is their job but they should lay it off odd times when passing is a better option, great ones know this like Messi.Argentina and Mexico will be a good game to see can't wait. Yervant1
Thursday, June 24 Slovakia vs. Italy (Match 41) 10:00 am ET Slovakia will win 2 to 1 Paraguay vs. New Zealand (Match 42) 10:00 am ET Paraguay will win 2 to 1 Cameroon vs. Netherlands (Match 44) 2:30 pm ET Holland will win 2 to 1 Denmark vs. Japan (Match 43) 2:30 pm ET Draw 1 : 1Game result; Italy 2 : 3 Slovakia I knew Italy will lose, because this time around they did not have it as a team and it did not show in their previous two games. In a way no more cry babies in the tournament. Game result; Paraguay 0 : 0 NZL A sleeper at best, it looked like Paraguay played for a draw. It's sad to see NZL go home without even losing a game. Game result; Holland 2 : 1 Cameroon It's a shame that a team like Cameroon ended with no points. Game result; Japan 3 : 1 Denmark Finally Japan solved the mystery of the Jabulani ball by scoring the first and second dead ball free kick goals of the tournament, the third goal was a beauty as well. Denmark did play well but no result. Edited June 24, 2010 by Yervant1
Zartonk
I'm no fan of them, but Italy played with ambition the last 10 mins. Gotta respect that.
Azat
maybe but the first 80 minutes they were bad. In a way sad to see Italy go, but I expected them to go in the next round anyways...

Yervant1
Friday, June 25 Portugal vs. Brazil (Match 45) 10:00 am ET Brazil will win 3 to 1 Korea DPR vs. Côte d'Ivoire (Match 46) 10:00 am ET Ivory Coast will win 2 to 0 Chile vs. Spain (Match 47) 2:30 pm ET Spain will win 2 to 1 Switzerland vs. Honduras (Match 48) 2:30 pm ET Draw 1 to 1Game result; Brazil 0 : 0 Portugal The game did not live up to my expectations, first half Brazil had the possesion but second half Portugal came close several times at winning the game. Probably Brazil played for a draw. Game result; Ivory Coast 3 : 0 North Korea Meaningless game, Ivory Coast would advance only if Portugal loses and Ivory Coast wins by more than 7 goals! Good luck.  Game result; Spain 2 : 1 Chile So far the most entertaining game ever, Chile played a great game could have won the game except for the keeper's mistake which resulted in a goal by David Villa for Spain. The second yellow for the Chilean player and ejection turned the tide against them.I hated to see Chile out but thanks to a draw between Honduras and Switzerland made it possible for Chile to finnish second and stay in the tournament. Game result; Switzerland 0 : 0 Honduras Didn't see the game. Yervant1
Now that you have seen all 16 teams, the time has come to pick the winner of the world cup. My choice before the group round was Spain, but unfortunately they can’t seem to score goals even though everything else is done perfectly therefore I revised my prediction and decided between Brazil and Argentina. Since there can be one winner I’ll go with my favorite player Messi and choose Argentina to win the cup. Don’t be shy, pick your team! Azat
I had predicted Spain and Argentina in the finals but they both won their groups... So it looks like a Spain and Brazil is in the works. Although Netherlands and Argentina can easily sneak in from either side as well. Fun starts tomorrow. US has a very easy pass all the way to the Semis but they will loose to Ghana or Uruguay(assuming Korea looses tomorrow too)

Azat
Uruguay sucked but they won. Korea played a much better game. In the entire 95 minutes I dont think they had one series where they had 3-4 successful passes... this is for sure the weakest quad and they have a very good chance to beat Ghana or US too unfortunately. Yervant1
Saturday, June 26  Round of 16: Uruguay (1A) vs. Korea Republic (2B) (Match 49) 10:00 am ET Uruguay will win 2 to 1 Round of 16: USA (1C) vs. Ghana (2D) (Match 50) 2:30 pm ET Ghana will win 2 to 1Game result; Uruguay 2 : 1 South Korea Uruguay instead of defending 1 nothing lead should have gone on the offensive for more goals. Game result; Ghana 2 : 1 USA Wow I got both games right today  Good exciting game, both sides worked hard. The penalty was given easily, because he got the ball clearly even though he came from behind. The gaol by A. Gyan (The Armenian )was a beauty. Yervant1
Yervant jan its hard to tell @ this time, Argentina is a very strong contender so is Brazil, Spain and Germany........but expect surprises in this world cup....there is no weak team left Now battle ranges on, My predictions are its going to be south American squad:)Edward Jan, no doubt about it that there are at least five teams that can win the cup, but since we need to pick one team I chose Argentina because they are the only team that played with cool heads no panicking at all. I guess Messi's calmness at any given situation is rubbing off to the rest of the team. Don't forget the great Veron and the equally good striker Gonzalo Higuain. As I said before my first choice was Spain such a great bunch of players but unable to put the ball in net when the chance is there. Having said that their last game was much better than their first two, if they can improve with every game then they have a good chance. Yervant1
Sunday, June 27 Round of 16: Germany (1D) vs. England (2C) (Match 51) 10:00 am ET Germany will win 1 to 0 Round of 16: Argentina (1B) vs. Mexico (2A) (Match 52) 2:30 pm ET Argentina will win 2 to 1Game result; England 1 : 4 Germany I expected Germany to win but not with this margin, England tried to have a comeback but their second goal was not given due to assistant referee error and it took the wind out of their sail. I think it's time to have a video referee. Game result; Argentina 3 : 1 Mexico Not a good game at all, another blunder by the assistant referee who let a clear offside goal go through. Another game without a Messi goal! I guess he'll get it when it matters the most. Edited June 27, 2010 by Yervant1
