Guest Posted December 28, 2000 Report Share Posted December 28, 2000 A PROGRAM OF SAVING SEVAN LAKE PROPOSED BY AUSTRIAN SPECIALISTS YEREVAN, DECEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS:The officials of the Gegharkunik governor's office nature protection, town-building and agriculture departments and heads of the Sevan Lake communities were on a week visit to Vienna, Austria to get acquainted with the experience of Austria in rehabilitating water territories and installment of water purifying stations. According to Tigran Hakopian, an official of the agriculture center of the province, Austrian experts had visited Armenia before, got acquainted with the problems connected with Sevan and offered their help. Austrian specialists presented the programs, through which similar problems connected with water territories were solved in their country. An arrangement on continuing such meetings in 2001 was made, and in case there are financial means they will take the necessary measures to start activities to start rehabilitation of Sevan Lake.
