I LOVE this one though! I want to make bbq --> Ես ցանկանում եմ կատարել ՀԱՆԴԵՍ Խորովածով
Arpa
This is hilarious , but otherwise in a way not funny . Is this how spellchecks will work? Also remember the on and off debates we have had about tyranslation- literal v contextual. If this is how one learns the Armenian language, Vay mezi ! I’m surprised it does not convert “kash/քաշ to khash/խաշՇունը հիշէ փայտը քաշէ Dog hishe wood kasheՅիշէ- brought = dog yishe wood kashePronounced dog yish wood kashԲարն եմ սիրում =I love barnԲառն եմ սիրում= I love wordLet's have some fun. Enter some well known sayings and see what happens.Look what cheese head brought -պանիր ղեկավար Does that mean Sip is a manager at the cheese factory? Fadix2
Sip, are this system based on Systran? Major languages seem to be using the same logic and mistakes.

Zartonk
BTW, doesn't beta mean unfinished in regular-folk English?
Sip
Actually the Armenian translation is in alpha which means not even beta! It is very preliminary. Google always likes to launch something then iterate and keep improving it. Also as more people use it not only does the system learn and adapt but also people can contribute better and better translations (hopefully). As far as how it works, I don't quite know the internals but it's based on statistical machine learning (it's not rule/grammar/vocabulary based). Google just looks at many many existing Armenian pages and also some existing 1-to-1 translations and statistically "learns" how to translate based on these existing texts. It's pretty cool actually that it works at all!!!
