Guest Posted June 16, 2000 Report Share Posted June 16, 2000 Ghoukassian Returns To Stepanakert STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)--It took three months of the best Armenian doctors to cure Artsax president Arkady Ghukassian, who was seriously wounded in the legs last March 22 in an assassination attempt on his life. Right after the March 22 attempted murder, Ghukassian was brought to the Yerevan Surgical Institute after professor Michaelian. The first operation took about 5 hours, which was done by the famous professor Vachagan Ayvazian. After a successful post-operational treatment, Arkadi Ghukassian was discharged from hospital, expressing his gratitude to the hospital's staff. Interrupting his post-surgery treatment in a Yerevan clinic Nagorno-Artsax Republic President Arkady Ghoukassian left for Stepanakert today. At the airport in Stepanakert the president was met by Artsax Parliament Speaker Oleg Yesayan, Prime Minister Anushavan Danielian, government members and other officials. Ghoukassian's health condition are said to be satisfactory.
