The deputy transport and communication minister Ashot Grigorian noted that Armenia pursues anopen door policy in different spheres of the country's life, especially in the economic sector.According to Grigorian, Armenia is resolute to continue the course of reforms. Armenia has largeopportunities to become one of the transit countries in the region due to its geographical position. In Grigorian's words, the current trade turnover volume between the three countries doesn'tcorrespond with the potential and possibilities available for launching an efficient cooperation. Todaythere are a number of sectors, where the business circles of these countries can cooperate andrealize joint projects, including transport and communication. David Rostomian, an advisor to transport and communication minister, added that one of thepriorities is the establishment of Armenia-Greece-Iran transit telephone cable line, which will result inchanging the telephone tariffs policy. An optic-fiber cable has been put up to Meghri and a 150 kmtransit way is to be laid down to Iran. The same cable will go to the north up to Russia'sNovorossiysk, and from there to European countries, including Greece.
