Diaspora Armenians are those who live in the west or in a country were originally no Armenians lived. You are Just a Baku Armenians Bakuahay.

The Armenians of Georgia, rep. Azerbaijan, Iran, Georgia, and Turkey are living in countries which Armenians allways lived in

Alex, I'd classify you as "bakvetsi"... I think you should be aware, however, that there are some negative connotations to that used by SOME people...just as there are negative connotations to hayastantsi, etc.

Yeah Steve ive been out of there for like 14 years now (thankfully) after the sumgait massacares my pops told my mom that she has to get herself and me out of azerbajian asap or we will get slaughtered like so many other armenians in Baku and surrounding areas. my moms entire family left for armenia and we went with them my pops aint have nothing to worry about (he wasnt armenian and he didnt look like one) so he stayed behind for a month.

out of the 100,000 or so armenians that lived

in baku before the massacares there was not one afterwards i don't know about the rest of azerbjian. I really blame the soviet gov't (mainly gorbachev) he had troops and tanks outside of baku and he held them back for 4 days or so and stood by to watch the azeris do what they did. but anyway i went into a long discussion about this i apologize.

I depends what you consider to be your homeland, if you think that Artsax is your homeland, then go for it. It doesn't matter if you are born in Baku or the US or Russia, if your heart is there, in place that you consider to be a homeland, then i think you should say you are from Artsax, from proud place of strong and powerful people.

Here is some video for you: Im Gharabakh by Aram Asatryan: http://music.diaspora.ru/clips/armenian_co...llection/12.ram

I love this video

I would definitely consider myself Karabaghtsi Personally, I have very little Karabaghtsi in me, but I don't refrain from pointing it out once in a while My dad's grandma was Shushetsi and I consider myself part Shushetsi (Just the sound of that word makes me proud - SHUSHI !!!!!!!)
