Fox News was established by Rupert Murdoch to shore up Republican support in the US. The Republicans are seeing that Armenians are slowly abandoning the Republican Party which they avidly supported for many decades. This is based on the fact that Bush reneged on his Genocide pledge and the interests of the sitting VP and his cronies re: Baku-Ceyhan. So FOX NEWS is undergoing a process of slandering Armenians. This is what was behind the false reporting of the LAX shooter as an Armenian, as well as the reporting of David Levin, arrested in London, as an Armenian. Today O'Reilly did a major hit piece on Cher. None of this is coincidence. As our national interests no longer co-incide with Bush, Cheney & Co. we are now in their gun sights.

To Hugarag and PAUL:I am no Republican nor Democrat,in 1992 we had all three Branches of the government controld by Democrats for two full years,they never recognised the genocide eather.Untill Pr. Joe Libermann lost as VP, Bush/Cheney won. So now the press secretary for Bush is Ali Fleisher, who is Jewish. Wolfowitz is Jewish. Kissinger is Jewish. Smart Jews and Esheg Armenians. Why do the Armenian elite execute their Democrats? Are they imbeciles? Why did a now-famous Republican operative politically execute me when we were both in our early 20's? Because the Armenan fat-cats can not swallow an Armenian Democrat in their midst. Rep. Eshoo hid behind her Assori married name and her father's Assori heritage and only recently has it been revealed that her mother is Armenian. Khachigian would have politically executed her also had it been known earlier that she was Armenian. Ditto for State Senator Speier of CA, who rose up hiding behind her married name. As for Dick Harpootlian, he was a Protestant Armenian, in an area devoid of Armenians at the time, operating as an odar in an odar world or the Armenian fat-cats would have politically executed him also. The few other Armenian Democrats in CA and New England are mainly recent arrivals.

Must I remind you that less than two years ago a Genocide Resolution was ready to pass in the US House of Representatives? It was pulled from the floor at the last minute. The votes were there. We should cultivate more friends in the US government. We should get more of our own elected to office. Our friends on both sides of the aisle have consistently voted for our causes. Our weakness is based upon the fact that until recently we were top heavy with Republicans and had no clout at all within the Democratic Party. Any advancement I achieved in the Democratic Party ranks was before I revealed that I was an Armenian. Until recently our leaders were outright hostile to the Democrats. As the Armenians have increased numbers in the US the common Armenians interests are being heard.

 

As for your other comment HK, you are not the first to claim that I am Jewish whenever you read on of my comments criticizing some aspect of the Armenian psyche. IT IS A CHEAP SHOT. Armenians are and have always been political babes in the woodsin the realm f international affairs. Osganian is a pretty saavy FM. Too bad there are so many Armenians who are so ignorant of diplomacy.

America is a wonderful country. The oportunities are limitless. You just have to be driven and take advantage of those oportunities. If the jews have influence, it is because they dedicated their lives and careers to government work and have gravitated to positions of power and influence. It was not allways so. WWII experience woke them up. Before that, the Jews stayed out of the limelight and gravitated to Commercial ventures; sort of like us. There is hope. The Legal apprenticeship program is just starting to pay off. There are a few Armenian politicians allready, far more than justified by our numbers. There are other more numerous ethnic groups who do not have as much representation as we do. Vietnamese, Albanian, Arabs are perfect examples.

Also, we should not expect all the polititians of Armenian descent to march in locked step. They are diverse from each other as their respective constituencies. We are doing well and we could do better. We just have to encourage our chilldren to go into politics. A profession not much esteemed in our culture. One thing that Armenians have an advantage over the Jews is religion. We have a chance at the presidency. It is clear that the American people will not elect a non Cristian for the presidency.

An excellent post you made. As we have diversified our leaders, we have increased our influence. There was a time when any liberal would be decimated by our leadership. The balance is good for our interests. A ethnicity made up solely of merchants and acting solely in their interests can not get much traction. Now we have our people throughout the professions and the political spectrum.
