MosJan Posted June 26, 2002 Report Share Posted June 26, 2002 According to a "Marmara" news report, a grenade exploded at the entrance of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of Ghalatia (Istanbul) on Saturday, June 22 at 10:00 p.m. A police investigation began immediately after the explosion. In addition to shattered glass, the main doors of the church were damaged. Church night watch, Nourhan Tasheopriv, notified church committee members Mgrditch Ardzivian, Vartavar Javak and Minas Kapousouz, who provided investigators with information. The committee members also informed the Patriarchate about the incident. The "A.Te.Ve." television station reported the bombing and the police investigation on Sunday afternoon. So we are going from Turkish dipomatic terrorism against Armenians to real terrorism. Who are the terrorists now? When a government feeds lies to it's people for three generations the victims are made into the perpetrators. When will the Turkish govenment come clean about the evnets of 1915-23? MosJan Posted June 28, 2002 Author Report Share Posted June 28, 2002 Armenian Cultural Center Set On Fire MOSCOW (Noyan Tapan) - The Armenian cultural center in Irkutsk was set on fire during the early hours of June 27. According to an Interfax report, those responsible used gasoline to set the building ablaze after breaking into the one-story center through a window. The damage to the building was complete, as firefighters unsuccessfully attempted to stop the flames. In related news, the Presidential Commission on Human Rights of Armenia received letters from the Russian Presidential Commission on Human Rights and the commissioner on Human Rights of Russia concerning the events that took place in Krasnodar. Both letters noted that the Krasnodar case is under control. According to one of the letters, the Krasnodar Internal Affairs Department had announced that 13 individuals had been arrested for the vandalism of Armenian churches. The Russian Commission on Human Rights also informed that they have applied to the Krasnodar government for additional information, which will be sent to their counterparts. As «Marmara» Armenian newspaper issued in Istanbul states, unknown people broke the glasses down, tore down the rope of the church bell. The law-enforcement bodies of Turkey were reported on the incident. The investigation of the case has already been started. According to the reports of the above mentioned newspaper, explosion near the St. Grigor Armenian church was set off in Istanbul the other day.
