Ani
Armenia will take 8th place in Eurovision Semifinal, forecasts say 12.05.2009 21:50 GMT+04:00 http://www.panarmenian.net/news/images/ico_print.gif http://www.panarmenian.net/news/images/ico_mail.gif /PanARMENIAN.Net/ Readers and members of independent Eurovision Song Contest website have been predicting the outcome of each Semifinal, and the results are grouped geographically and then worked out based on the Eurovision Song Contest scoring Prediction. Over 100,000 predictions have been made by more than 6,000 members of esctoday.com. The 10 countries predicted to qualify from tonight’s semi final are: 1. Turkey 2. Bosnia Herzegovina 3. Sweden 4. Iceland 5. Malta 6. Finland 7. Romania 8. Armenia 9. Portugal 10. Switzerland Contest participants from 18 countries, including Inga and Anush with their song, Nor Par, will be competing for passage to the finals of May 16. First contest evening will be hosted by supermodel Natalya Vodyanova and TV presenter Andrey Malakhov. After all songs have been performed, viewers can vote by making a phone call or sending an SMS for their favorite songs. Ten qualified countries will be announced at the end of each Semifinal. Wow...it almost worked out the way it was predicted...Turks came out first...Armenia #9... As much as i hated the song "Jan-Jan" (the title, the music with an indian-movie-like rhithm, etc)...i loved the performance, it was great, live performance was waaaay better than the studio recording (can't say the same thing about Andre or Sirusho, who suffered through the 3 minutes)... It felt right...Armenia represented by Inga and Anush fully dressed and concentrated on their vocal quality...turkey represented by a semi-naked voiceless belly dancer... Ani
I forgot to mention, i can't believe France is sending Patricia Kass...Its not fair to other contestants (voiceless belly dnacers for example)... I can't believe she agreed to perform on EV... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HCI4l7GNqg She's great...!!!...

gamavor
Inga and Anush are very talented and have tons of worthy songs, which unfortunately are too complex for the simplified European ears. They wish to hear something that is easy to remember and jump. For that matter, the choice of the song is "right on". The indian influence over the clip is also very well calculated given the rising interest in the inidian culture. Good job! Lastly, don't forget that Eurovision never had a reputation of the ultimate musicianship contest. It is rather Diaspora count, and ours is still strong. So cheer up, please! PS: Their makeup is a huge OVERDO and they need to work on their stage performance.
nairi
Am I the only one who noticed that Armenia got "Siberia" and Azerbaijan "Winter Boots"? What is that about, or am I reading too much into it? As for Patricia Kaas: good for her. Let's raise the standard a bit!

DominO123
Everyone should write to Eurovision and request the Iranian monument from Tabriz be removed to not show any double standard.
DominO123
Everyone should write to Eurovision and request the Iranian monument from Tabriz be removed to not show any double standard. Bring this to every Armenian forums..., this hypocrasy has to stop, what they did is even worst, as they have brought a major Iranian and sherrished monument and presented it in their logo, while they requested a monument build by an Armenian to be removed under bases it is located in Artsakh. DominO123
Arash Labaf, the singer representing Azerbadjain is an Iranian-Swedish singer who grew upp in Tehran up until the age of ten .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arash_(entertainer) That's not the point, those hypocriths wanted a monument build by an Armenian removed, they should live with their own standards and not include in their logo an important Iranian monument which is not in Azerbaijan's republic. NoComment
Arash did compose and did sing the song with Aysel, whatever the main info was and is (sorry that it dissapear in this third page of this thread) See this: http://www.today.az/news/society/52339.html now compare it to the pictures here: http://www.may3am.net/1388/02/27/arash-aysel/#more-432 these panturanists now claim entire Iran using an Iranian national monument located in Tabriz, as the main symbol on their logo, yet they complained to Eurovision about Artsakh image. DominO123
Didn't know, does not change that Sarghis Baghdasaryan from Armenian SSR was the author of the monument, the monument was done from an Armenian for the Armenians. It's again one rule for the Azeri and another for others..., this fact that they've used a monument from Tabriz should be brought out and the officials should appologize for having supressed freedom of expression à la Azerbaijan, when on the other side they were allowed to use an Iranian monument made by Iranians. MosJan
EUROVISION 2009: BAKU ASSUMES THE RIGHT TO ARMENIAN MONUMENT, IRANIAN MAUSOLEUM OF POETShttp://www.armtown.com/img/photo/pan_en_31848.jpgAzerbaijan which urged Eurovision 2009 organizational committee to remove We and Our Mountains Armenian monument from the video representing Armenia, has assumed the right to an Iranian mausoleum. It is not enough that Azerbaijan showed indignation over the monument We and our Mountains which is situated in Nagorno Karabakh, this country was not ashamed of showing Iranian Maqbaratoshoara (mausoleum of poets in Tebriz) in a video representing Aysel and Arash. Iranian media and diplomatic coops have been already notified of it. Besides, during the voting in the contest, measures were taken to prevent Azeris from voting for Inga and Anush Arshakyans. The extension to be dialed in case for voting for Armenia was blocked.
MosJan
Baku commits gross violation of Eurovision rules of by hiding phone number from Azeri to vote for Armenia 18.05.2009 13:56 GMT+04:00 http://www.panarmenian.net/news/images/ico_print.gif http://www.panarmenian.net/news/images/ico_mail.gif /PanARMENIAN.Net/ Azeri was deprived the possibility to vote for Armenia’s song at the Eurovision 2009”. In a final tournament all means have been taken in Azerbaijan to prevent their counterparts from voting for the song of Anush and Inga Arshakians representing Armenia. According to a group of Azeri Internet users, during broadcasting of the Eurovision contest the part of the screen with phone number to call and vote for Armenian participants, was hidden. As a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter was told in Armenian Public Television (APT), APT had been already informed about illegal behavior of Azeri side and submitted a complaint to the organizational committee of the contest. It’s worth mentioning, that Armenia gave 1 point for the song of Azeri participants. According to voting results, Inga and Anush Arshakians, who represented Armenia at the Eurovision international contest, took the 10th place
