MosJan
SUREN VAHUNI'S BUST STOLEN YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, ARMENPRESS: The relatives of the famous Armenian poet and translator Suren Vahuni informed Armenpress that unknown villains had stolen Vahuni's bronzed bust (he was buried in 1983 in the pantheon of Sovetashen cemetery). They said that some other graves were also defiled in the pantheon. Suren Vahuni was one of the distinguished figures in the Armenian art under the Soviets. He is an author to several collections of poems and it is due to his translations which made Armenian readers acquainted with world masterpieces such as Bokacio's "Decameron", Duma's "Count Monte Christo", Hashek's "Valorous Soldier Sveik's adventures", Lope de Vega's "Gardener's dog" etc.
