ExtraHye
Could someone please help me? I was online today from work looking for this one soup recipe. Well all of a sudden it said that the virus detector has done it's job and didn't let a virus from the site I clicked on attack my computer. I clicked OK then all of a sudden it started scanning my computer at work very fast stating that my computer at work has a virus and that it's scanning for viruses (not the virus detector my work uses). I clicked on the X on the top right hand side right away. Now my question is, does the computer at work have a virus? I did click on the X on the top right hand side ASAP. Oh and I forgot, I ran a virus check, but it didn't find anything. Can someone plllllease help me with this. Did I tell you guys that this is my computer at work

Sip
You are probably ok ... just keep checking for viruses and run some anti spyware like spybot or something (not sure if they allow you to install and run your own programs at work). It's a pretty common scam to bring up these windows and pretend to scan for viruses and then ask people to pay for the cleaner or remover or checker or whatever they are selling. Moral of the story ... no soup for you

Don't you mean that the moral of the story is... no more cooking soup for me, just eat out Thanks again

DominO123
I see what you mean, it's a popup which wants to sell you a product. It's not your antivirus, it's a so-called popup which pass as one.

Garo
Have you tried to use a different browser? Also, go to adobe.com and try to update flash player. Some flash ads you see on yahoo.com may cause problems if you have older version of flash plugin installed.

Thank very much for your reply Garo jan… I was using the new “fancy” Yahoo mail…I was told that it might be from that, so I switched to classic mail, and surprisingly it works now…But, I don’t have those beautiful email backgrounds anymore…
Garo
Maybe your computer doesn't have enough RAM memory? That would explain why other program appear as frozen as well when you're using the fancy version of Yahoo Mail.

I don't know Garo jan...maybe...But my cousin, who was behind the idea of buying this HEAVY laptop for me said that it is "the fastest thing out there" (a year ago) and has big memory...4GB...i think...
