Sahak
MOSCOW SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY: RUSSIAN PARLIAMENT'S COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN Trend News Agency Nov 20 2008 Azerbaijan Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 November / Trend News , corr. E.Tariverdiyeva/ Moscow supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Russia supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and will continue to make efforts on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Alexei Ostrovsky, the chairman of the Russian Parliament's Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots, said to Trend News in Baku on 20 November/ "Until Baku and Yerevan will not sit around the negotiation table and come to a solution, which is acceptable for both sides, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict process will continue," Ostrovsky said. Armenia has occupied 20% of Azerbaijan's lands including Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding seven regions. The occupation began in 1988. Azerbaijan lost the Nagorno-Karabakh, except of Shusha and Khojali, in December 1991. In 1992-93, Armenian Armed Forces occupied Shusha, Khojali and Nagorno-Karabakh's seven surrounding regions. In 1994, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement at which time the active hostilities ended. The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group ( Russia, France, and the US) are currently holding peaceful, but fruitless negotiations. AK-47
We should of done this years ego.Problem I see and many Armenians as well that Azerbaijan claims nobody recognized NK hence its integral part of Azerbaijan. Your inputs are appriciated It's just a political game we are playing. Armenia does not recognize NKR simply because the foreign powers will view us aggressors and we'll be condemned here and there. We're just not strong enough politically on the international level to pull it off. While official recognition has not happened, there's no kidding that NKR was recognized since day 1 given the fact that Armenia acts as its security guarantor and almost every aspect of NKR society is linked to Armenia. However recently, I find there is a little less pressure on us now in terms of recognition given the Kosovo, South Ossetia and Abkhazia precedents but we will still need backing from a major power. Russia is the logical ally but the azerbaboon oil is in the way. Rest assured that NK in the sense of the enclave is guaranteed eventual recognition. Our major problem right now is to keep ALL the liberated territories, most vitally the Lachin and Kelbajar districts.
AK-47
MOSCOW SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY: RUSSIAN PARLIAMENT'S COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN Don't worry. They keep doing this all the time. This is what the deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Director of the Institute of CIS Studies said just yesterday: KONSTANTIN ZATULIN: "NAGORNO-KARABAKH TO BE RECOGNIZED SOONER OR LATER" YEREVAN, 18.11.08. DE FACTO. ‘’Nagorno-Karabakh will come to recognition sooner or later. Karabakh will not return within Azerbaijan’’, Konstantin Zatulin, the deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Director of the Institute of CIS Studies, stated in the course of a news conference held at the Novosti Press Center today. According to Zatulin, Azerbaijanis are also aware of the fact. However, in his words, the Azerbaijani politicians cannot exceed the established limits. Nevertheless, presenting, in his words, Russia’s official stand, Zatulin noted that Russia was not ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, especially taking into consideration that Armenia had not done it yet. ‘’However, my own stand is as follows: it is possible not to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh de jure as much as one likes, however, it de facto exists’’, Konstantin Zatulin noted. At that, in Konstantin Zatulin’s words, no one can prove that nations’ right to self-determination yields priority to territorial integrity’s principle. Zatulin is sure that the final word rests with people, if they consistently display their will. http://www.defacto.am/index.php?OP=71340649
