  "There was no state appropriation by force in Armenia; it was the opposite. There was force applied against peaceful demonstrators and power was transferred from one to the next," told "A1+" leader of the "Republic" party Aram Sargsyan. Based on that, according to him, it is "unserious" to talk about amnesty.

   

  "They were the ones who appropriated power. They are trying to throw the blame on the guys by sentencing them. It is very unserious to talk about amnesty today. The important thing is to find out who was to blame. The society understands that we are not to blame. The administration must say the name of the person who gave the command to apply force. Those who gave the command must be brought to justice. In addition, if we want to settle the Karabakh conflict, we must have an administration that represents the views of the people."

   

  As far as the Karabakh conflict settlement is concerned, Aram Sargsyan's stance is no different from the stance of the Armenian National Congress and the First President.

   

  "The events that took place after the last rally are just what the first president determined. The meetings in Moscow, signing of the treaty, the visit of the co-chairs to Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, then the meeting in Europe-this goes to show that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has entered the final stage and is drawing to an end. This was why the opposition decided to create opportunities for the administration to be freer, stay on track and settle the conflict without any pressures inside the country. What he said is now a reality," said Sargsyan.

   

  According to Aram Sargsyan, in order to have a pro-Karabakh settlement of the conflict, the Armenian administration must be legitimate, invulnerable and only in that case will it be possible to have a beneficial settlement and the only way for that to happen is to hold new elections.

   

  Serzh Sargsyan has invited party leaders to a meeting to discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, but Aram Sargsyan has refused to participate in the meeting.

   

  "I respect this country, this state and our statehood. The president-the symbol of the state and statehood-is blaming me and my friends for state appropriation by force with articles on assassination, betrayal and destroying the foundations of the country. If I am a criminal, they should not care about my opinion because I have destroyed the foundations of the country. If they don't believe in what they are saying and are inviting me to ask my opinion accepting the fact that I am not a criminal, what is the meaning of trials? What really took place? Who destroyed the foundations? After all, we saw the events of March 1. They are the ones who destroyed them. They should have enough strength to stand up and say who did all that, who gave the command, why force was applied and whether that was right or not. That is why I am not participating," told "A1+" Aram Sargsyan.
