armenian superstitions

Once again, I'm looking for some information for a publication of Armenian American folklore. The next leg of this project has to do with superstitions; bad luck, good luck, evil eye, etc.

 

The information I need is what is an Armenian superstition that you know of, believe in and/or take part in.

 

What specifically is the superstition? Such as what is the evil eye.

 

Give an analysis/description of what the superstition means, looks like, how one participates in it (such as throwing salt over one's left shoulder).

 

How did you first become familiar with the superstition? Is it something that your family has taught you at a young age? Is it something that Armenian's as a whole believe?

 

What is your personal interpretation of the superstition? Do you believe in it, why or why not? Do you participate in it, why or why not? Do you find the superstition to be true or absolutely silly?

 

Other more general information that I would need, and is completely optional are....

 

What age bracket are you? such as 20s, 30s, teens, etc

 

Are you male or female?

 

Are you a student or professional career? What do you study? What profession are you?

 

Do you consider yourself more Armenian, American or an equal of both?

 

Depending on the answers, I may need to ask you for more information. This project is due Friday October 17th. It's a very quick and easy thing, so don't worry about not answering until the last minute.
