Ashot
News Release Monday, September 29, 2008 Murder Suspect Quickly Apprehended for Shooting and Killing a Man After a Dispute Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives investigate the shooting death of Vahe Soghayan. On September 27, 2008 at about 6:15 p.m., North Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call of a “shooting with a victim down” at the scene in an industrial center in the 7200 block of Bellaire Avenue. Upon arrival officers found evidence of numerous rounds being fired from multiple firearms. When the officers arrived, their investigation revealed that the victim had been transported by a private party to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of a gunshot wound. Subsequent investigation by North Hollywood Area detectives revealed that the victim had been shot after a dispute of an unknown nature. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Vahe Soghayan, a Sherman Oaks resident. The man responsible in the shooting of Soghayan was identified as 28-year-old Garik Mikayelyan, a North Hollywood resident. He was arrested and booked at Van Nuys jail for murder and bail is set at $1,017,500. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detectives Louie Calzadillas or Richard Wheeler, North Hollywood Homicide, 818-623-4075. After-hours and on weekends calls may be directed to the 24-hour, toll-free number, 1-877-LAW-FULL (529-3855) or texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with LAPD. Tipsters may also submit information on the LAPD website, www.lapdonline.org and may remain anonymous. http://lapdonline.org/newsroom/news_view/39484 ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________ Note: I don't have much heart of writing about this case as my tears wont stop dropping and my blood won't stop dripping from my heart. The victim mentioned is my brother - my father's sister's son. What I have found out is the guy driving him towards the hospital was Garik Mikayelyan. They didn't get to the hospital as the car was pulled over by the police and Garik was arrested. My brother was shot and died instantly. Garik tried to get him to the hospital. The LAPD is claiming that Garik was the one who shot my brother, however, how can someone with a 1,017,500 bail be released after 3 days for a murder. The report and the inmate information do not match up together. - http://app4.lasd.org/iic/details.cfm the B.S. lapd reports - they closed the case as if that's it they really found the killer and it's the end of story... no report of the 28 bullet shells that were found in the scene, not even a report of how many bullets were found on the car - bmw 745 - the side of the car looks like a target practice... so what now? will the shooters be found? someone also told me that the type of guns were used sounded like it was world war 3... teo 49 callibers m-16, uzi, and a cuted shotgun... Is LA really a safe place to live? how safe is it now that the streets are flooded with guns of all types and I won't even be surprised if they start selling granades and bazookas. I am sick and tired of our Armenian youngsters carrying a guy and not having the guts to take a beating at least. My brother wasn't even involved in the war that went on in north hollywood. He died for no reason, and it is very hard to beleive it all. this is all I can write now, the thread is open for some conversation, so don't hesitate to talk. Arpa
Sad very Sad! Our thoughts are with you Dear Ashot. When will our brothers learn that the West, Calfornia is not the land of John Wayne, or Wild Wild West where arguments and debates were spoken at the muzzle of a gun. When will they learn that all those Hollywood pictures are fantasies where one actor will be shot and killed in one episode and resurrect and act in another? When will they realize that when one shoots a bullet into another it is the end, that they will not wake up and play in another fantasy movie? Some of them may have watched one too many John Wayne or Mannix movies. Sad, Sad indeed! The gun is one of the most cowardly instrument ever created. Sip
So waht happened? Was this random shooting or was he targetted for something?
Ashot
he went there to prevent any arguments, he didn't even get to get out from the car when the other two sides started blasting at one another. I strongly believe that it was the m16 that caused the head shot and instant death, however, there are some doubts. Personally he had no involvement in the argument, neither did he know there would be gun battle.
Sip
Argument was between gangs? over drugs? money? I mean even in LA it's not like everyone is walking around with an m16
Ashot
Argument was between gangs? over drugs? money? I mean even in LA it's not like everyone is walking around with an m16 most likely money, that's all everyone is after nowadays... no gang related whatsoever... exactly my point - no one is walking around with m16 in LA, but these guys were prepared for a huge war...
