This assistance is offered by the State of California Franchise Tax Board. Eligible persons are those who are persons over 62, under 62 & blind, under 62 and disabled. Eligible persons must also have legal immigration status or be a US citizen. Recipients will have to provide proof of age, immigration/citizenship and income the first time only. There after they only need to complete the form. Annual income must be less than $44,096. The amount of assistance is based on a sliding scale. The filing period for this assistance is July 1 to October 15, 2008.
