I am posting this here so as to not corrupt your excellent thread.

I wish our ads and mods would create a Subject Topic of COMMENTARY or EDITORIAL, SOAP BOX, VEM, BEMA or else, where we can vent/rant without infringing on others' topics.

Dear Ashot, congratulations,

Excellent thread. Keep it up. Please don’t let me sidetrack this debate.

What is best is that you are keeping the thread intact by adding subsequent “chapters” as need be, unlike when we would rather create a whole new ‘thread’ for every addition to the same theme.

The way you have done is even more significant as each and every addition gives a divergent view on the same subject, be they mythical or historical*. In so doing it will warn us to “place all our eggs in one basket” so to speak, speak out of one mouth, stop confusing ourselves, opening ourselves to the ridicule of the world. With postulates of our origin. Did Armenian come from the east, the west, the north or the south? Did Haik “come” from Babylon, Macedonia, Moscow or even China? Are Armenians the heirs of the Halti, the Hittites, Urartians or are they Phygians?

Hittites are Hittites, Khaltis are Khaltis, Phrygians are Phrygian, Armenians are Armenians, Hays are Hays. They did NOT COME from anywhere, they have always been there, if at times they may have been superior or inferior to the Hittites, the Urartuans the Assyrians or the Babylonians. If one were to ask where one came from, beside the fact that we all came from our mothers’ womb. Some may want us to believe that all mankind came out of Africa (see the debate about Lucy of Ethipoia), Maybe so, then it means that WE came , from wherever we CAME, just as other people CAME. Do Greeks ever questionas to where they CAME from? Then why are we the only people constantly asking WHERE WE CAME FROM? That is. If we came from here, there or the other place, are we going to go back there, be Babylon or Addis Ababa?

Above,

This legend is reminiscent of the invasion of the Armenians from the west. The bringing of Haik from the south in the narrative may be traced to the wish of the Christian historians of Armenia — Khorenatsi and others — to connect the story of Haik and Bel with the Biblical narrative of the construction of the Tower of Babel.
**

So true that Khorenatsi and other neo-Christians, upon instructions by the bishops, were trying so hard to justify our very existence by connecting us with the Bible, not only the fable of Babylon, but with that of Abraham who also CAME. Maybe Abraham CAME from whatever the h**l. We did NOT COME. We have been here from time immemorial.**

In conclusion. Dear Ashot, you are doing a wonderful job. Perhaps this will put an end to all the debate about “where we came from”, and “where we are going”. We came from NOWHERE and we are not going ANYWHERE.

* Allow me to invent a new term - MYTHISTORICAL

** *The longer we talk about from where we “came from” the more fodder we furnish to the furks who would say- “’You came, you saw, you conquered‘ and now it is our turn“.

** None of the Biblical myths are original. They are all based on the myths of other people of the era, myths like the Flood based and plagiarized from Gilgamish, not to mention that whole thing is based on Armenian folklore.

Arpa jan, I greatly appreciate for the comment, Thank you deeply!!!

My concern is to go further back into the History of Armenians, Haik is more beleived to be a history rather then a myth... we have found out that there were 3 or more Kingdoms of Armenia before Haik... We will go further back into history and proove our poeple "quote" "we did dnot come from anywhere and we are going no where" we have always been there, from the begining, and perhaps we will be here even after the end, there are too many things in the world connected with Armnenians, the bad thing is we tend to close our eyes on them!!!

Any ways not to brag a lot in here, but we will get to write the finalized version, my reason for pointing out 4 different versions is to come up with one final version, and perhaps notify to all of the sources to use only one version, I too, am sick and tired of different versions to everything, has there not been a single version that we all know to be true?

Thank you very much Arpa jan for this discussion!
