Joyeux Noel,

MERRY GENESIS

ԶՈՒԱՐԹ ԾՆՈՒՆԴ

You will note that all of the above are talking about “birth”, even the French, which is a variant of “natale”.

So…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!!!

Why have we, for so long been asking for SER MIUTIUN in one our most popular prayer?

UNITY and dis-UNITY

ՄԻԱՑՈՒՄ եւ ՊԱՌԱԿՏՈՒՄ

Look at MosJan’s message below.

He says ; “Merry Christmas Everybody”

He does not address it to this kind of Armenian or that kind of Armenian.

Maybe now MosJan will understand why I took umbrage at that message wishing “Merry Christmas to our ‘Catholic brothers and sisters’” . Read Movses’ message again.

Merry Christmas everybody Shnorhavor Surb Tsnund

Please, note that I can equally hit this faction or that when they get out of line, as I personally have no axe to grind with one or the other. I am in the middle trying to UNITE us.

---

I will repost the relevant segment of that article by Mr. Russell under another topic.

Shame on the Mirror for airing such a hateful and divisive article, specially on this day of Armenian Christmas.

====

“North Africa, some leaders of the pre-state Jewish community in Israel even talked about preparing for a last stand on Mt. Carmel on the model, not of Masada, but of Musa Dagh. Not all the Armenians were murdered: Many fled into the northeastern part of their ancient homeland, still ruled then by the Russian Empire; and in 1918, the first independent Armenian state in half a millennium was proclaimed at the capital, Erevan. But a bitter civil war ensued among the Armenians: The Communists took control, the centrist government of the Dashnak (Armenian Revolutionary Federation) party fled into exile, and Armenia disappeared behind the IronCurtain. America, fearful of the Red Menace and anxious to maintain good relations with strategically important Turkey, did indeed forget the Armenians. In 1935, the State Department, acceding to Turkish pressure, even forced MGM in Hollywood to cancel production of a film version of Werfel's book. The embittered Dashnaks had in the meantime embraced racist and fascist ideology. On Christmas Day of 1933, at an Armenian church in Manhattan, twoof their leaders disemboweled a political opponent, Archbishop Leon Tourian, during mass, in full view of thousands of parishioners. In Boston, their newspaper Hayrenik (Fatherland) praised the German Fuehrer and youths of the Tseghagron ("Race Worship")** group marched. Hitler intended to finish off the Armenians, though, and the Luftwaffe dropped leaflets over Erevan inviting the local Azerbaijani Turks to sharpen their knives. In fact, Soviet Armenia lost a quarter of its population in the fight against fascism. Meanwhile, in New York, Avedis Derounian, a young man from a family of genocide survivors who himself had witnessed the murder of Archbishop Tourian, vowed to waken the US to the dangers of homegrown fascism. After the war, he traveled to the Middle East, and in his 1950 report on that trip,”

See the rest in that article.

Now you can see what I meant by “dashnak mashnak”. I did indicate there that the Mirror, the official organ of the Ramkavars enthusiastically jumped to the occasion and reprinted that article from the Haaretz.

Look how readily and maybe willingly we are falling for external manipulations.

If I were the Mirror I would call for the impeachment and dismissal of Mr. Russell for a highly provocative and divisive article. With a hand in glove message where he calls for unity between us and his people, he is drawing more lines between us and our brothers. He is not doing anything different than those furkish -asseri sites that constantly blame our mutual issues on the “dashnaks” , “Asala” and other “terrorists”. If we can’t see how this is aimed to divide the nation by alluding that “Armenians in general have no problem with the furks, it is the ‘dashnak, asala and other terrorists’”.

As if we did not have enough internal issues like “Dashnaks-mashnaks, Ramkavars-mankavrs, Diasporans-miasporans, etc.” (you add ad lib) to divide us, now come external forces to further widen the gap. Let me repeat. The Mirror gets a big ZERO for so gleefully reproducing that article and falling for the overt and covert message. Who knows? Maybe they did collaborate in the writing of it.

Now, let us see what else, besides “dashnak-mashnak, seghan-meghan(table and stuff), ator-mator(chair and stuff)" is DIVIDING us. And, for that matter, what is UNITING us?

Surprise me! Tell us what it is that UNITES us, besides, that is, MosJan’s Message above where he wishes “Merry Christmas to EVERYBODY”.

Some may even claim that the ONE UNITING FACTOR is the Big G. I am not sure even about that.

Allow me to repeat.

I brought the above quote to make us aware of external attempts to divide us further. The main purpose of this post is to see what is that is UNITING us rather than DIVIDING.

** He should be the last person to talk about “Race Worship”, specially after he professes being a “Zionist”.

Yes, yes. I know. I speak too much. Some here have accused me of "writing too long". I do that mainly for my own benefit, to teach myself. Yet, if one reads my rantings, one may also learn a thing or two. End of sermon. Or, is it?

Tempest in a Teacup

I was debating whether to start a new thread with the above title. I decided to rather post it here.

The cliché is known as “Tempest in a Teapot” in the British vernacular. It means -”a great commotion over a small matter”. The below quote refers to the so called “Boston Tea Party”.

A Tempest in a Teacup

15 April 2005

On June 15, 1775 John Wesley wrote a letter to a Frederick North, First Lord of the Treasury, in which Wesley, a Tory through and through, argued in defence of the American colonist's struggle for independence. In May 1773, North had succeeded in getting the English Parliament to pass what the colonists referred to as the infamous Tea Act.

Behind the Tea Act was an ongoing trade war between the English East India Company and Dutch contraband tea. The Tea Act outlawed the importation of the Dutch tea and imposed a modest tariff of threepence a pound on tea exported to the colonies. The East India Company was sitting on over 18 million pounds of tea in its company warehouses in London….

And now we read this; Now, do you see the connection to “teacup”?

James Robert Russell - PROFILE

James Robert Russell is a scholar and professor in Ancient near eastern,

Armenian and Iranian studies. He is a linguist who specializes in the

languages of the Near East and is an authority on the Armenian and Iranian

languages. His specialty lies in the folklore and Mythology of the Armenians

and Iranians.

He is the Mashtots Professor of

Armenian Studies in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and

Civilizations at Harvard

University and has occupied this post since 1993.

Is the above a fallout, the sediment at the bottom of an Armenian coffee cup/Հայկական սուրճի գաւաթ? A reaction to that shamelessly unapologetic reprint by the Mirror of that infamous article in the Haaretz by James Russell. See the reference to Dashnaks here.

For those who may need translation- the AYF is also known as Homenetmen, the youth arm of the Dashnak Party.

Down with all those cannibalistic so called parties who can’t cut the hand that murders them/us and instead cut each others’ heads!
