ok... laptop time again... i need some quick recommendations, please...

lenova thinkpad t61

toshiba tecra a9

hp dv6500t

dell latitude d830

dell inspiron 1520

anything else close to these (or am i crazy and these dont' even come close to be comparable?)

basically, i'm looking for a mid-size computer for business and personal use... i'm not looking for a great performer for gaming, movie, entertainment, or blasting sound... however, i will be running resouce-intensive applications frequently...

thanks...

I own the T60 for the past year+. I have 2 gigs of RAM. I now run longhorn server on it and have had no issues with any app. I would recommend the t61 from your list. I assume its similar to t60 but better

I just asked a techy guy at work, he advocates strongly either for Levono (daughter company of IBM) or Toshiba. Dell, in his opinion, cannot produce laptops. HP is not as it was before.

Dell laptops are one of the long running ones... they have the least glitches - in my opinion!!!

I have used 10 laptops simultaneously the best running ones and longer are Dell!!!

I also have a T60 (for work). Honestly, I wouldn't get one personally but it's a work horse for sure. Very solid (and heavy) with decent battery life.

I think I told Maral not too long ago but if I were to buy a mid-size laptop for myself now, I'd probably be looking at the Dell XPS M1330 or the M1530. For a high-end portable (I mean really portable), Sony VAIO T-series as I've had them for the last 5 years pretty much and use daily. But now, the the cheap ultra-portables coming out, I will probably slowly switch to having a regular mid-size laptop and a really tiny ultra-portable. But I digress :)
