FIRST IT CARRIER FAIR IN YEREVAN

 

The First IT Carrier Fair in Yerevan was organized and financed by the Yerevan State University, The Russian- Armenian (Slavonic) State University, the Union of IT Enterprises of Armenia and USAID, in the frameworks of the "Competitive IT Sector in Armenia" program.

 

Boomerang Software, Virage Logic, Broncoway, Instigate, Synergy, VivaCell and many other companies, 28 in number, were taking part in the Career Fair. All the companies were thoroughly represented and each visitor of the fair could get detailed information about them, job conditions and requirements.

 

Armenian students, who were the main attendants of the fair, shared their opinions with Azg correspondents. They say that sometimes students or university graduates are offered well-paid job in the IT sphere, but such occasions are so few that the rest remain unemployed and with no other choice than to seek for vacancies in foreign states.

 

Nevertheless the IT Career fair gave the students opportunity of gaining skills of competitiveness in the job market. The employers, in their turn, had an opportunity of finding more skilled and qualified employees.
