aSoldier
I am currently studying for an Associate Degree and my year was notified we are the first "batch" to be doing it - this meaning it's a very new qualification in Australia. How popular is it in USA? Is it recognized well?
Anoushik
Not really. Here it's a two-year degree usually given by community colleges. It is popular, because many people earn it if they first start in a community college en route to a university. But also many people just earn the Associate degree and don't continue on to university. In the university they earn the minimum Bachelors degree. Of course, every country is different as regards to education.
Anoushik
But I should also add that it's still a degree and people find good works with this degree, instead of just having a high school diploma.
Sip
Associate Degree in what? Is it some sort of liberal arts degree? In the US, any degree after highschool will improve your chances of getting a job over someone with only a highschool diploma but that's about it. It really depends on what you want to do.
