"TURKISH AND AZERBAIJANI PROPAGANDA AGAINST ARMENIA

Yesterday Armenian Revolutionary Movement (ARM) party organized a discussion on the theme of "Turkish and Azerbaijani Propaganda Against Armenia" at "Congress" hotel. The event was opened by Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, member of the ARM party Bureau, Vahan Hovhannisian. In his speech Mr. Hovhannisian mentioned the main political issues concerning Armenia and South Caucasus and concluded that Armenia must strengthen its position on Nagorno-Karabakh. "Nowadays negotiations are but the preparation stage of the final talks, in which Karabakh’s participation is vital," he said.

Ashot Melkonian, director of the RA National Science Academy’s History Institute, in his speech stated that the Armenian Genocide is already recognized de-facto by the world society. To his opinion it is time to turn from proving the fact of genocide to demanding compensations – be it on private, organizations or governmental level.

Trying to summarize the suggestions statements and opinions made on the conference, ARM party bureau member Lilith Galstian said that Turkish and Azerbaijani propaganda has advantage of the Armenian both in internal and external spheres. The marked Armenia’s mistakes in the sphere of mass media, foreign policy and the lack of programmed state propaganda

AZERBAIJAN SAYS CONTRADICTING THINGS, VICE SPEAKER SAYS

Panorama.am

Vahan Hovannisyan, member of Armenian Revolutionary Federation

(Dashnakcutiun) Bureau and vice speaker of the Armenian parliament,

said Azeri propaganda is shaped in three directions. "It is addressed

to international community, Armenian nation and Azeri people,"

Hovannisyan told a round table today. In his words, Azerbaijan says

quite contradicting things in these three layers which is a wonderful

tool in the hands of Armenia.

"In an address to Armenian nation, they want to frighten us that

their country is a strong oil state and that they will win in case

war resumes," Hovannisyan said. However, he said this does not create

defeat attitudes among the Armenian nation.

In an address to Azeri people, the propaganda tries to deliver the same

message and makes people understand that they will settle Karabakh

problem with the use of weaponry. Hovannisyan said the Azeri nation

does not share this view, saying the Azeries who live abroad do not

want their children to serve in the Azeri army on the fear that the

government may take "imprudent" steps.

Speaking about the messages to international community, Hovannisyan

pinpointed that Azerbaijan takes the image of poor, economically

isolated country where there are many hungry refugees. We must do

everything to focus the attention of the international community and

Azeri people to the reality, Hovannisyan said.

RADICAL TURKISH GROUP MAIN SUSPECTS IN HACKER ATTACK

By Ashfaq Ahmed, Staff Reporter

Gulf News, United Arab Emirates

March 1 2007

Dubai: Hackers from Turkey managed to access Dubai eGovernment

hosted websites but the attempt was foiled within two hours, a senior

official said.

"We believe the hackers belonged to an extremist group in Turkey as

they also pasted a message in Turkish apparently referring to the

killing of Hrant Dink and the approving of it," he said.

Fifty-three-year-old journalist Dink, who was a Turkish citizen of

Armenian descent, was shot in January this year.

According to reports, he faced constant threats and legal proceedings

and had gone on trial numerous times for speaking out about the mass

killings of Armenians by Turks at the beginning of the 20th century.

He had also received threats from nationalists, who viewed him as

a traitor.

MURDERS OF HRANT DINK AND GURGEN MARGARYAN WERE THE RESULT OF THE ANTI-ARMENIAN POLICY OF TURKEY AND AZERBAIJAN

armradio.am

The assassinations of Hrant Dink and Gurgen Margaryan were the result

of the anti-Armenian policy of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Director of

the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan said at today's

press conference.

The later represents the Defense Ministry of Armenia at the court

hearings on the case of murder of Gurgen Margaryan. In his words, the

clan of Aliyevs is engaged in anti-Armenian propaganda, and it's worth

mentioning that it is done not only by Ilham Aliyev but also his wife

and his daughter Leila, who organized an event in Moscow dedicated

to the Azerbaijani interpretation of Khojalu tragedy. However, as

Hayk Demoyan noted, the Azerbaijani authorities keep silent about

the crimes against their own people.

An Azeri hacker cracked the web-site of the Azeri Public Television again.

The Azeri Day.az news agency reports that a message appeared on the site of the Azeri Public Television addressed to Bacioglu, an Azeri hacker, Thursday. The message is as follows: "Dear Bacioglu, an e-war has recently started between Armenian hackers and you. Certainly, this war is inefficient. You crack our sites, and we crack yours. We wouldn't like to wage a new war. We are Caucasians, we should live in peace. The Caucasus is our and your historic lands. We didn't want to kill people in Karabakh either. Everything that happened is in the past. Actually, the war in Karabakh is

politicians' affair, let them address these issues. And we, programmers, should respect each other. Dear Bacioglu, we believe you'll understand us. We believe you are a professional hacker not only in Azerbaijan, but in the whole Caucasus. You've already proved that you are the best of all. We think it is time to make friends. Best regards, AXTEAM Group Yerevan, Armenia".

The content of the text made the Day.az think that the message wasn't written by Armenians. Probably, the web-site of the Public Television was cracked by Bacioglu himself, who three days ago cracked another Azeri site - the Azeri tricolor, the Day.az reports. The source reminds that this hacker had promised to crack dozens of Armenian sites on the day of the Khojaly tragedy, but he failed to do it and

decided to get himself noticed by cracking Azeri web-sites.
