The global congress of Armenian technologies (Armenian Technologies Congress - ArmTech 2007) will first be held in San-Francisco on July 4-7, reported Tony Moroyan, Viasphere International Inc. Executive, ArmTechCongress President. "This is the first Congress and an exhibit in the IT sector. They are intended for professionals, interested in integrating the global Armenian community in the developing technological sphere," Moroyan said. According to him, the Congress is aimed at encouraging professional contacts and establishing mutually beneficial relations among representatives of the active business. "An Armenian activity at such a level is to be held in the Silicon Valley for the first time. Participating in it will be representatives of all segments of high and information technologies, not only the currently active but also new spheres that are currently under development, as well as projects that have not yet been implemented," reported Moroyan. According to him, there will be participants also from Europe, Brazil, Canada and other countries. "We anticipate success in this undertaking, and already plan to regularly hold this activity once in two years," said Moroyan. In his turn, Director General of Viasphere Technopark, one of the congress organizers Aram Vardanyan pointed out that according to the existing plans, 50 companies will participate in the Congress. Armenia used to have good traditions in the IT sector. It is necessary to Armenia to restore its rating in this sector, and this congress will contribute to it. Some 50 companies are to attend Armenian Technology Congress - ArmTech - 2007 in July in San Francisco, Vahan Movsisyan, director of Armenian Development Agency and co-organizer of ArmTechCongress, said Wednesday at a press conference. In his words, these companies engage in information and nanotechnologies, science, organic chemistry, bio technologies, energy and alternative technologies. Movsisyan said 25 to 30 projects will be presented to U.S. potential investors. ArmTech - 2007 will be held on July 4 to 7. The congress aims to promote professional contacts and establish mutually beneficial ties among businessmen. Armenia will participate in the international scientific conference on high technologies in San Francisco at the beginning of July, said Vice-President of International Inter-professional Armenian Association (G21A) Daniel Yeremyan. "Armenian companies will be able to present their achievements in the IT-sphere during the conference organized by G21A," he said. Yeremyan said that the matter concerns new software that opens up possibilities to present images, texts and voice playback. "In particular, due to these technologies, it will be possible to implement banking payments through mobile network instead of plastic cards," he said. He also added that the previous similar conference was organized in Paris, on March 31. Armenia was presented alongside such countries as Romania, Bulgaria and India. "Armenia found its place on the world market of new technologies, which is accounted for by specialists' higher education as well as Armenians' ability to create new proposals on the basis of imagination," he said. G21A founded in 1981 is an inter-professional, non-governmental association which has a consolidate role among professionals of Armenian origin and Frenchmen - friends of the Armenian nation - who occupy with various activities (directors of enterprises, leading personnel, industry, merchants, craftsmen, "active" pensioners, etc.). The RA FM underlined the great importance of high technologies for the further development of Armenia’s economy. Vartan Oskanian also stressed the importance to use those technologies in social sphere, including education and healthcare. The Armenian Foreign Minister introduced changes of new generation reforms and perspectives of country’s development conditioned by those reforms. He particularly underlined that the society carries the responsibility both for success and mistakes. In his speech Vartan Oskanian touched upon also regional problems and introduced relations between Armenia and the Diaspora in separate directions. The next session of the congress is scheduled for 2009.
