Just select to install only fonts and keyboard driver. Other Keyboard drivers I know are WinKeys KDWin I use WinKeys and it's working fine for me. Guest Posted July 21, 2000 Report Share Posted July 21, 2000 All this problems occur because we don't have a normal standard for armenian font layout. after it'll be done we'll have normal fonts and keyboard driver.By the way anybody knows about an armenian OCR program ? None of the drivers are "russified" - it's just the difference in Eastern and Western Armenian pronunciation and lack of English letters. Example - our great host writes (and pronounces) his name Garo, while in Hayastan we say "K"aro where "K" is a tough, totally different sound than English K or G. This sound does not exist in Western Armenian either. So software developers Armenia put whatever they thought is the closest match and availability. For 36th letter of Armenian alphabet they chose "Q", which I think perfectly fine. I think to avoid this confusion, you better use typewriter, rather than phonetic layout. Tiny sticky notes with Armenian character on them will do the trick. I use KDWin and I'm pretty happy with it. It has Armenian Phonetic, Standard and Typewriter layouts plus a bunch of other languages, plus few pre-installed Armenian fonts. We need a good OCR software.I'd like to try his version. I remember there was one made in Armenia and it was doing only one thing good - crashing you computer! And they were asking about $400 for that. I prefer press Ctrl+Alt+Del instead of paying that much just to restart my copmuter ;-) By the way I've put some Armenian fonts and keyboard drivers here just in case anybody needs them.
